Mount Lion and Michamvi by far the best places to be in Zanzibar. Chilled and relax, the lodge welcomes you to enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in the island.

Everything was perfect.

We stayed at Mount Zion Lodge for 3 nights with our 10-year old son. Akida and his crew could have not been friendlier, really great people and super nice with our son. Atmosphere was relaxed and the place calm, surrounded with lush garden - great place to unwind and chill out. The place is a few minutes walk from the beach and other hotels, bars and restaurants, which we liked, as the surroundings were peaceful and calm. Breakfast was excellent and the food in general good. Apart from the restaurants and bars on the beach, between the Mount Zion Lodge and the beach there is a garden bar where locals have a drink, play pool or come to watch football. The vibe is friendly.

Local-owned, cosy place in the middle of the village, yet quiet place. Friendly staff who always helped us with questions! The breakfast and food was amazing, fresh fruit everyday and on time.

The power of the water in the shower was a bit low, and the electricity was not always working. But that was not the owners fault, the municipality does cut the power for the village sometimes in favour of the big hotels. In these cases, the owner was always trying to keep the electricity running with his own generator.

Everything was good, we will come back.

Plumbing issues

Lovely and peaceful property, staff very friendly and easy to arrange trips and transport.

The first day we arrived of course tiered and hungry, we asked about food for us for lunch as they had a menu and had advertised on Booking . Com that you could buy lunch and dinner, we were told not that day may be tomorrow. We found a little bar across the road which had character. No wardrobe or draws to put your clothes, so left them in suitcase.

Mount Zion is a magnificent resort close the beach in a peaceful and beautiful location. We loved our stay and enjoyed the nice and relaxed atmosphere a lot. The staff was very friendly and made sure we had a good stay. The rooms are spacious with nice garden view. The resort is very close to the beach and it’s beautiful to go for a walk or swim or watch the sunset. We can really recommend Mount Zion to everyone who want to visit Zanzibar. Perfect.
