Mount Rest Villa

Shanika and Sampath are very kind and helpful hosts. If you want to stay in a village and in a quiet place, it's very nice to do this experience.. You will find the main road in 10 minutes walk. Room very clean and big in the middle of the nature.

We LOVED our stay at Mount Rest Villa. The family welcomed us with homemade food and tea. They are so nice and willing to help you with anything. The accommodation is super comfortable, it has big wooden doors that you can open up. We loved doing this in the morning while slowly waking up to the sounds of the birds. On the day we had to check out the family gave us a bag with some jack fruit from their garden. Definitely recommend booking this place, we would have loved to stay longer but had to continue our trip. We were only the 3rd people staying here so don't get put off by the fact they only got 2 reviews.

Mount Rest was quiet and peaceful and really lovely to have our own space. The Villa was cool in temperature at night time so we slept so well in the extra big bed. It is a short walk to a lovely beach and the lagoon, and a short tuktuk ride to Hikkaduwa for great snorkelling, cafes, restaurants and nightlife. For us it was lovely to be away from the crowds here at Mount Rest and immersed in Sri Lankan culture. Shanika and her family were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable. They were so kind and generous. They arranged for us to go on a tour of their family’s Cinnamon Garden and see how it was made. The Villa was very clean and comfortable and we loved our time here. Would highly recommend if you like to be off the beaten track, surrounded by the sounds of nature.
