Gigli di Firenze

The house is placed in a rural area, at about 45 minutes away of Firenze. It is very clean and has and old atmosphere that we really loved! Samuele, our host, helped us with places to see and was always ready to answer. They have been waiting us with a bottle of home-made olive oil that was really dealicious! The sunsets were magical and on the way to Pontassieve you can admire the hills of the vineyards in this area.

Prachtig huis in de bergen. Rustig gebied met veel natuur. Ruime en schone kamers. De host en zijn familie waren heel gastvrij. We hebben zelfs goede aanwijzingen gekregen voor rijden met de auto in Florence. Top verblijf!

Très belle maison, spacieuse et bien équipée. Nous y avons passé deux semaines confortables et ressourçantes. L'air conditionné est un plus. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la gentillesse et la disponibilité des hôtes: Samuele, Antonella et son mari qui ont fait preuve de beaucoup de flexibilité lors de la remise des clés (anticipée par rapport à la planification) et qui nous ont soutenu toutes les fois que nous en avions besoin. C'est extrêmement important lorsqu'on a des enfants en bas âge.

The house is clean and well-maintained, nestled in beautiful surroundings. In addition, the hosts are exceptionally welcoming and attentive. A thoughtful touch was the complimentary bottle of homemade olive oil they gifted us upon arrival. There are also several restaurants and wineries in close proximity.

The initial road we took to the property was a bit winding, but our hosts showed us an alternative route which was much easier to navigate.

Hosts are perfect, we felt great warmth and welcome despite they spoke very little English (their son speaking English was available on the phone when there was more to be communicated). Description and photos match perfectly with reality. We had everything we needed.

There are many spots with magnificent country views arround. However, direct surrounding of the property is not that amazing. But adequate to the price.

Hosts were very welcoming, helpful and kind. Property was spacious on the whole apart from the kitchen although this was fairly well equipped but would benefit from some baking trays for inside the oven. The bathrooms and beds were spotlessly clean, although quite hard and uncomfortable. There were plenty of towels and access to additional bedding and pillows if needed. The sunset view from the patio was fabulous.

Despite being tucked away there was a lot of traffic noise at night and early morning noise from various machines in the close vicinity. Overall the property felt a bit unloved. Window locks didn't work properly and although there were mosquito nets none of them were fixed effectively most had holes and flapped around. The front bedroom screen kept popping open during the night. The host even indicated that they weren't much good whilst showing us around. Bites were some of the worst we've ever experienced!!! Having to keep windows closed without a fan was awful in the heat, sleep was difficult. The house is very dark so lights were needed even in the day. Outside there was nowhere relaxing to sit. Plastic patio chairs had no covers and were uncomfortable, the wooden chairs were unstable (two of them were completely broken and leaning up a wall). There were two new sunbeds but these weren't practical for dining. One thing we missed the most was a BBQ or something cook outside. The only way to use the kettle was to remove the adapter from the TV as for some reason the electric sockets weren't compatible. The dishwasher door was broken and this again was pointed out by the host.

A big traditional family house in the hills close to Florence. A car is necessary, but the location is worth it. Very nice and helpful hosts. Cookies and home wine were on the table for us when we arrived. Home made olive oil came later. The whole family is involved and ensures that the guests have everything they need. Lots of cooking utensils, and a brand new microwave oven. A very good choice, we were happy to stay there. Easy communication, Samuele speaks English. Grazie ancora a Samuele e tutta la famiglia!
