The Shore Agonda

Location is really nice with direct access to a clean beach. Maybe it's a bit too much to call it "garden-apartment" as there is only a small stripe with little plants. Room is small but cozy. It's nice that water was provided. Restaurant serves drinks at your room if you like that.

It was little bit expensive. Be aware if you have a garden apartment and next to the restaurant from 9-10am it can be very busy and noisy in front of your door! Staff didn't always change the sheet, they only turned it around. A small fridge in the room had been nice. Restaurant food wasn't great. The food in the nearby restaurants is much cheaper and better in quality. Fresh juice was double of the price of the restaurants at the street behind the hotel.

Great location right on the beach. Very peaceful. Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble.

Location was great - right on the beach, in the middle of Agonda (Goa). Rooms are nice (however basic). Food at own restaurant was above average - especially fresh fish and lobster! But the most we appreciated was the staff at the restaurant - very, very polite and accommodating - thumbs up!

Rooms with Garden View are actually facing a nearby villa, so there is not actually a garden. Not explained on site as it should have been, so really disappointed. I would not recommend other rooms excel Sea View ones.

The location is great. The property was helpful at the time of billing. Ample storage for 15/20-day long stays. The rooms are exactly like the pictures.

However, one can't smell a picture. The Shore stinks and not metaphorically. There is foul smell almost all day long. To begin with, the entry way is pebbled and looks pretty, but is often used by strays to do their business. There's nothing horribly wrong with that, if someone takes the time to clean it up. ESPECIALLY, because it IS the entry way to the property, but no one does. Even inside the property, the smell is a permanent guest. The bathrooms also stink despite them being spotless (no complaints with the housekeeping on that front). We booked the King Room with Panoramic Sea View almost a year prior to our visit. While making the booking, I tried multiple times to get in touch with the property for details, but no one responded EVEN ONCE. We still kept the booking. At the time of travel, I asked the property to send a car for pickup from the airport. They did. However, I was hounded by the reception AND THE DRIVER separately for the driver's payment for a day and half. It made no sense because I had asked the property to send the driver and not hired him off the street! It should've been alright to clear the dues at the end of the stay like one normally does, and including the drop from the airport. But I cleared the dues and did not re-hire their cab (overpriced by Rs. 1000). They did not have any regard for the long stay or the basic process of hospitality. They also have a weird rule for not doing repairs in the room without the guest present. The AirCon was leaking and I had to spend all sunset getting it repaired. One evening, another guest dragged a lot of the beach up to our floor and I requested that the corridor be cleaned because it is a common area. The request was met with a smile and nod but never completed. There's no shower or jet spray to wash off the beach before entering the room. We have been visiting this beach for almost 15 years now, 2-3 times a year for long-ish stays.

Probably the best hotel on Agonda Beach—new, clean, beautifully designed, with excellent service and food. I’ve read past reviews mentioning the need for improvements in service and food quality, and I can confirm that they have made those improvements. Rooms facing the sea, both Sea View and Panoramic, are spacious, and you can easily hear the sound of the waves. Agonda Beach is very clean, quiet, and romantic. Sunbeds are not allowed directly on the beach as it is a turtle nesting area. The soft sand is perfect for running and yoga. A true paradise!

Not the case, everything ok

We had a seaview room so could sit on our large balcony (sun loungers would have been a nice extra touch) and watch the sea roll in and kids playing cricket on the beach. The room was tastefully decorated in neutral colours and natural wood with plenty of space. Great reasonably priced cocktails and delicious food in the beachside restaurant where the staff were happy to cater to any requirements. The hotel is in a perfect location mid way along the beach so an easy walk to shops or along the sand to beach restaurants and boat trips. Agonda is a beautiful and quiet place not a party town.

I would definitely recommend a seaview rather than garden room. Because Agonda beach is a turtle nesting site sun loungers and sun umbrellas are banned so it's good to have somewhere to sit next to the beach. The hotel does have a couple of small sunshades on the beach but no sun loungers.
