The Guesthouse at Dynjandi Falls

The host was very communicative and the location simply cannot be beat. It was a 10 minute drive to the falls, it's remote enough we were about to catch some of the Aurora while out and about, and the dogs are SO CUTE.

There was only one bathroom available to 6 rooms (up to 12 guests) which meant we were constantly overlapping and waiting to pee. There are also so. many. signs. It feels a bit like overkill where a list of concise house rules would do.

We stayed here in September and had a fantastic time! What a peaceful and relaxing place. We loved meeting Leslie and Greg, and they were so welcoming. It's a beautiful and remote location, and you can take gorgeous walks/hikes right on the property. The house itself is cozy and filled with books.

The guesthouse has a self-service check-in and out and it was very convenient. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a washing machine, an oven, a microwave and all the utensils needed. Our room was upstairs and we had heavy luggage so it was a bit difficult to climb up the stairs but we managed to do it, the room was nice overall and we found chocolates on our beds as a welcoming gift which we appreciated a lot. Next to the entrance there should be an additional toilet but it wasn’t available during our stay. The hosts provided us fresh water, towels, sheets and blankets. The bathroom was amazing, it was very big (a bit cold though), and had a shower and a tub, which we didn’t use unfortunately, as well as two sinks. A hairdryer was provided as well.

We had a sort of curfew to respect since no showers nor cooking activities were allowed after 10 PM. This curfew was a bit limiting since we were on a road trip and we had to rush to eat and take showers to meet the curfew. Our room was a bit small and we couldn’t open our luggage very well but had a very large comfortable bed, on the other hand there was no wardrobe or hanger and there wasn’t a lot of space where to put hats, jackets scarfs ecc. In the shower the water flow wasn’t very stable and there were sudden changes in the water temperature. Our main problem with this accommodation has been driving the bumpy road that leads to the house. We rented a 4x4 Dacia Duster in this trip and had some difficulty in driving through the road, it was dark and we had to drive very slowly in order not to damage the vehicle. The road was uneven and not well kept. At night there was also mud and ice so it was slippery as well, we recommend people to be careful while driving towards the accommodation and in our opinion a 4x4 large car is necessary.

Very lovely guesthouse. I stayed at the room with balcony which can see beautiful fjord view. Room is quite spacious and comfortable. Nothing much is around the house so it is very quiet at night from the outside (see below). Very spacious shared bathroom.

It is a rough road drive from dynjandi waterfall to the guesthouse. Suggest driving an SUV or 4WD instead of a small car. Also suggest driving there before night fall. The noise from people walking around the corridor, stairs, lock/unlocking the door, from the kitchen…etc are clearly audible, which can be annoying and disturbing when you try to sleep. 5 rooms sharing 1 bathroom may have some congestion at times.

Was eine besondere Oase! Ein besonderer Ort an dem man herzlich willkommen wird und die Wahrscheinlichkeit ist groß, dass man noch andere nette Reisende trifft. Die Gemeinschaftsbereiche sind gemütlich eingerichtet und es fehlt an nichts! Wie hatten zudem ein unfassbar schönes Zimmer mit Balkon und konnten den Sonnenuntergang und die Wale im Fjord beobachten - unvergesslich! Jederzeit wieder!

Nichts! Man sollte nur wissen, dass man eben ein Bad und eine Küche teilt und ob das dem eigenen Wohlfühlfaktor entspricht!
