Beba.Beach.House

The beach was very nice and sandy, very close to the home. There were a couple of small beach bars serving good food and drinks. Does not take long to get to the town with taxi, however it is not a cheap ride.

There were a lot of beach boys, they do leave you alone after few days The room had no air conditioning, the fan did not really make much difference, it was tough to sleep. 0.5l of bottle water was supplied per day, I think thats not enough Coffee was instant which is a shame, you had to pay extra for a better coffee, a bit of a shame The toilet was broken and the button was getting stuck so it would not stop flushing The water heater was heating water to boiling point, which burned my hands in the sink. The food rotation could be better The massage bed was not comfortable For the price it is not a big ask for basic toiletries to be provided. Of course it is not a hotel, but a room rental, but basic hospitality is lacking. Host seems to be arguing with any negative feedback or completely uninterested in hearing it and shrugging it off

The food was so good! James & Baba cooked up the best vegan dinners for us! Gnocchi is superb!

Stunning location, with beach view and just steps to the sand Bebe and the team were super friendly and helpful Room was gorgeous, surrounding gardens too, and loved the pool Dinner available on your terrace, was lovely, romantic and really convenient Loved the dogs, who were super friendly and gorgeous

The place was great, we loved it all. The ‘beach boys’ were a bit much (but this is not something Bebe can control)

Fantastic restaurant with very good prices, smiling staff, wonderful beach, nice room interior.

We stayed in the most expensive tripple room which is on the ground floor (like the other room with the garden view). The biggest problem we had was the lack of privacy. You are nearby the Beba's office and kitchen and you have no private terrace or balcony and during the day there are people behind all your windows (staff and other guests on the shared terrace). Because there is no AC you want to have the windows opened but then all the people can hear you (and you them). If you book one of the Deluxe rooms on the the first floor you won't have this problem. Also beware that the price for washing is per washed piece of clothing so if you have many things to wash you will pay a lot (we payed 20 euros). Also be prepared for a lot of beach boys outside who will try to sell you tour packages or just try to get money from you.

The food provided by the chef James and his two helpers was excellent, and the service, cleaning and attitude from them couldn’t be faulted

Quite a long way from Watamu and a third of that distance was over some of the roughest road we have ever experienced - so rough that Ubers wouldn’t come to the property so it was either an expensive taxi ride or remaining captive to the near vicinity. Toiletries were advertised but existed of only a dispenser of the runniest soap imaginable. Hairdryer promised but never materialised. Advertised as 5 star but nowhere near that

This is a nice place when booking the room upstairs. It has an amazing view over the ocean, large veranda. The room upstairs is great and nicely decorated. - the other guests that we interacted with - the chef cooks great dishes with a variety of options. - the chef helped us with arranging motorbikes. - owner provided us with an early breakfast on the day of departure. - short walk to the beach!

- the first night we stayed in a room downstairs next to the kitchen. The price-quality was really bad. We paid over €100 for a room that was dark, small and with no garden view. Instead we looked over trash and to a wall. The room was next to the kitchen and office, it really didn’t give us a holiday feeling and it was overpriced. It would have been worth 50$. The reaction of the owner was that this place is a House and not a Hotel (??). When we asked for another room she wanted to extra charge us 10$ a night… given that it was only 10$ a night extra, we felt she was very much trying to maximize profit. - the staff leaves between 8 and 9pm, so you end up staying alone at night, there is no security or anyone around to ask for a water bottle late at night. - lack of drinking water. We would suggest to put a big gallon of water in the house that guests are able to fill there water bottle at any time. It’s very hot outside and water is a basic necessity. - People here are not very chatty, there is little hospitality (nobody asks if you enjoy your stay, want something to drink, eat, enjoyed your meal). It comes across the Italian owner doesn’t really care about guests well-being and perhaps is tired of running a hotel. - swimming pool is shared with the other houses and needs maintenance. It’s outdated.

We loved the place from the moment we arrived! It's a beautiful house with 4 bedrooms (we stayed on the main floor) a few steps from the beach. Very comfy rooms with king bed size and exquisite design. Staff is very friendly and helpful :) Besides the accommodation i'd like to do a special mention to the food&beverage services: breakfast was fantastic, delicious and complete. We also had some meals at Beba's and I highly recommend to stay in and enjoy the menu, everything we ordered was delectable! The chef is really really good!

We were missing shampoo and AC (there is a ceiling fan).

The staff was very friendly and willing to assist. The beach was also just steps away from the property as well as the pool and beach towels were provided. There were also some specials guests- the owners dogs! The breakfasts were also very good with fresh baked goods, fresh eggs, and freshly squeezed juice as well as eggs your way.

The power cut out in the middle of the night both nights of our stays so the fans didn't work - and since there's no AC, it was uncomfortable to sleep. There were backup generators but they didn't put them on until everyone was awake. There was also no basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) that we had to get picked up and then added to our bill. There were also only two beds for the beach, but approximately 9 other guests at the property.

This so great place! We liked everything! The room is so beautiful, there is so big and beautiful terrace, the view from the terrace! The breakfast and dinner were served to our private table outside of our room. We could enjoy the view and privacy and it felt like five stars hotel, when James cooked so delicious food. Breakfast was also excellent! You are already on the beach, when you open the gate from the garden. The owner Beba runs this place with big heart!
