The location was perfect. Not too far out of town but far enough to have some peace

The Firkin Lodge is lovely and comfortable. We enjoyed the lodge and its amenities, a very well appointed accomodation that is clean and tidy. We especially enjoyed the pub and its hospitality. The owner brews a really good beer, I can recommend the Goose, and we had a lovely home cooked meal.

Nothing not to like.

The property was beautiful with different quirky signs and features. John was lovely very welcoming and was a great host. Everything was sorted for us and things we didn’t even think of had been done. I would recommend this place. We ate at the pub ran by John and the food was amazing. We will be returning.

We stayed 2 nights at the beauitful lodge ( 2 adults, 1 child) when we got there we was welcomed by john who showed us all round the place, explaining everything we needed, and how to work the hotub the lodge is stunning clean and the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. The pub next door which john also owns was a lovely country pub with amazing food ( never heard any noises from them ) the lodge is in a quiet peaceful location ( if need a shop its about 20mins away ) its perfect to get out of city life and be in the country side We had car troubles one day and john came out to help and so did people from the restaurant its like one big family I loved the design of the lodge and the decor, we really enjoyed our stay we cant wait to come back.
