Magar Hostel Bar

Magar has the qualities to be a great hostel. It just might need more time to build its reputation and provide social activities. The staff was very accommodating. Although there is a bar, the music turned off around 11 PM, which was nice for catching some sleep.

The breakfast is limited, but can't complain when it's free!

location was great and beds were very comfortable.

Bathrooms shared between 10 people were only cleaned every second day (including emptying bins) which was a bit gross. Also had to ask 4 times for empty soap dispenser to be filled - extra gross. light/tv from the common area went straight into one of the dorm rooms. Wifi didn't work well in the rooms.

Amazing place and the best crew I met at my journey. Room has everything I needed, was clean. The food and drinks in a bar were great and they have live music performances every evening there. Recommend!

The staff are amazing - they all go out their way to help you & make your stay pleasant! Such nice and friendly people. The communal spaces are cool & social. The private rooms are big & spacious. The showers are nice and warm. They let us leave our bags in the luggage room while we went to Machu picchu and when went to the jungle.

The restaurant had a few supply issues when we were there, most items on the menu weren’t available. But there’s lots of nice restaurants nearby.

Great location and the beds were comfortable with outlets and a reading light.

The wifi doesn’t work upstairs, the floors were disgusting (especially between the bunk bed and wall), staff were unprofessional - on top of each other and couldn’t answer questions, there were also only curtains on the bottom bunks which was a little weird
