Chambre très, très petite, aucun rangement, 2 petits crochets alors qu'on est 4 (donc 4 serviettes, 4 manteaux). Prix très cher pour une chambre aussi petite et sanitaires communs

Nice setting, clean and shared bathrooms good. Cabin was cute and was a generally fine stay until we checked out and they told us they wouldn’t store bags.

Stay was totally overshadowed by their ridiculous luggage storage policy. Our intercity bus to Christchurch was at 3:45pm and we had intended to spend the day exploring Tekapo as had arrived late night before. However, on check out the person at front desk says they will only store bags until midday. We have been travelling for 6 months and never experienced this. As backpackers with large rucksacks and other luggage this meant it was impossible for us to do anything with our time in Tekapo except sit with bags somewhere as there is no luggage storage in town. All the communal areas are accessible only by a key (with threatening messages up everywhere if you come in outside of check-in time) so you can’t even use the kitchen or store food after 10am (again never experienced this, it is normal to make use of shared facilities for a few hours after checkout at backpackers places). We ended up having to abandon the day and book an earlier bus out of Tekapo so didn’t get to do the things we came to Tekapo to do because of this place. All I can observe is that they earn so much from their affiliation with Kiwi Experience (they even have Kiwi Experience artwork on the walls) that they don’t care about their reputation or their other guests (even when they’re paying $300 a night for shared facilities!). Unless you’re leaving first thing in the morning, save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else. WiFi also didn’t work and laundry facilities limited so you have to queue.

The staff is excellent and helpful, especially the staff who drives the shuttle bus. He introduced local restaurants and other useful information to us. Everytime he appears like a magic, always the time we need help. I feel so grateful to the staff!
