The location is lovely right next to the river in beautiful surroundings. The contact always got back to me and was helpful.

The caravan was very tired and not very clean. Could do with a little TLC.

"Avoid at All Costs – Unsafe, Unclean, and Misrepresented"

1.0

Avoid at All Costs – Unsafe, Unclean, and Misrepresented I booked a one-night stay for early April 2025 and drove four hours from Lincolnshire with my two young children (aged 7 and 2), having paid a surcharge for early check-in to make full use of the site's facilities. What we arrived to was nothing short of appalling. The property was in a shockingly unhygienic and neglected state. Basic cleanliness had clearly not been carried out—carpets were unvacuumed, surfaces were visibly dirty, and the bathroom was in a disgraceful condition. There were stains, hairs, and dirt on the toilet and bathroom floor, and the bath mats were filthy. Guests are expected to bring their own bedding—sheets, pillowcases, duvets, pillows, towels—under the vague justification of “allergy reasons.” However, the mattresses were covered in dust, grime, and general debris, making them completely unfit for sleeping. To make matters worse, used duvets and pillows (likely left by previous guests) were present, covered in animal hair. The kitchen was equally unacceptable: the fridge was dirty, the oven and air fryer were encrusted with burnt food and grease, and one of the kitchen cupboards had a wet black stain inside. These conditions made it impossible to prepare food safely—completely unacceptable when travelling with children. One of the key reasons I booked this location was the advertised on-site swimming pool, which turned out to be out of use. A long-term resident at the site confirmed that the water had turned green and the pool hadn’t been usable for some time. I was not informed of this at the point of booking. I immediately reached out to the owner through Booking.com and received no reply. I then contacted the managing agent (Travel Nest Booking Team), who advised I call the owner directly. When I did, I was met with rudeness from the outset—no apology, no concern, and was even told to “stop hounding her.
