The host couple is lovely,A large and clean house with a lovely view.

It's hard without a car but the lovely owner drove us to the center of Hitthorn when we asked .

"Perfect quiet charming location away from the crowds when visiting the Giethoorn attraction."

This is the place to stay when visiting Giethoorn. Located on a canal (connected to many other waterways) in a small quiet village away from the tourist throngs that are at the Giethoorn tourist village but only a few kilometers easy drive to that attraction. The very large apartment located above the hosts' living quarters in a charming thatched roof house has a picturesque view of the canal from the large bedroom windows and a balcony view of the nature preserve from the living room. The hosts are absolutely delightful - he speaks English and although she doesn't, she is outgoing and charming. A boat rental is available from them at a reasonable price if you want to explore the local canal system.

Nothing we did not like about this place.
