Breakfast was good and they supplied excellent home cooked dinner at very reasonable cost The owner was very helpful showing us local highlights personally and booking our tour tickets and checking all went to plan

Living area needs painting , Seating needs cushions, needs to supply jug tea coffee plates and small fridge prior to visitors arriving to supply needed items and ensure a more pleasant arrival.

Really friendly host, who went out of his way to show us around the area and was very helpful in sorting a safari and transport for our on ward travel. It’s in a lovely area, off the tourist trail and has very good Wi-Fi.

Incredibly friendly and helpful. Was taken both ways to boat tour at 6am. Charged $30USD for the boat tour which is extremely reasonable. The accommodation was great even though it's on main road it was not noisy at all. AC and hot shower. Bathroom clean. Was nice to have large separate living area with kettle and tea. There is a washing machine also. Really comfortable bed and long too with no wooden end. Had an amazing breakfast made by Mum which accommodated my food allergies. Was recommended to go to archeological site only 200 meters down the road which was really interesting and the trees and natural vine swing was cool too. One of the best places I have stayed. Definitely recommend

De buurman van de host deed enorm zijn best om ons goed te ontvangen en te begeleiden naar de bootsafari, maar de host zelf was er niet. De host had een bootsafari voor ons geregeld en deze kon doorgaan. Het diner gemaakt door de moeder van de buurman en ook het Aziatisch ontbijt was goed. De lakens, de handdoeken en het toilet zelf waren proper. De airco in de kamer werkte. Er was water in de koelkast. De buurman nam ons mee voor een wandeling naar een opgegraven tempel in de jungle.

Het huis/de kamer was erg vuil en leek lange tijd niet gepoetst (vloeren, oppervlakken en spiegel) of onderhouden (sanitair). Er is geen tuin of lakeview zoals beschreven. De foto's komen niet meer overeen met de huidige toestand. De host was in Colombo, waardoor de buurman alles zelf moest uitzoeken. Dat deed hij heel nauwgezet en heel vriendelijk. Prijs /kwaliteit niet in evenwicht.

Very good basic apartment with an extraordinarily committed and helpful owner. Good local breakfast. We had delicious rice and curry for dinner which was delivered by the owner. Also, the owner helped us organize an amazing boat safari and a jeep safari in the Gal Oya National park. In addition he organized a small surprise party for our son’s birthday. His huge effort and dedication made it a most memorable stay.

The apartment is located at the street, which didn’t bother us, but should be considered since there are some emissions.

The property itself was incredibly comfortable, offering exceptional value for the price. The owner was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, even arranging an extra bed so that my entire family could stay together. Beyond the comfort of the property, the area is rich with hidden gems that made our stay even more special. We explored many beautiful spots, including a scenic boat ride and a refreshing river bath. The hike through the surrounding nature was both peaceful and invigorating, allowing us to connect with the stunning environment. The highlight of our trip was witnessing elephants bathing in their natural habitat—a truly mesmerizing experience that I'll never forget. Gal Oya Lakeside provided the perfect base for this adventure, combining comfort, hospitality, and access to some of Sri Lanka's most beautiful natural attractions. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the true essence of Sri Lankan wildlife and tranquility.
