Chobe River Camp

LOCATION WAS GOOD. SERVICE,STAFF,FOOD AND COMFORT WAS VERY VERY VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!

Breakfast was not that impressive only scramble eggs available.

Magnificent view from the room (tent) on the Chobe River. The bed was very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. We took a boat cruise on the Chobe River and we’re lucky to see plenty of animals ( elephants buffaloes hippos giraffe amongst other.

Nothing to report except we got soaked by the sprinkler in the garden on our arrival. Staff made a small excuse but failed to provide a towel to dry up.

Very helpful and friendly stuff like always from Gondwana Collection accommodations. Absolute gem of a location for enjoying Caprivi Strip and Chobe NP (after crossing the border). Activities can be easily booked even on short notice and offer good value. Boat cruise can definitely be recommended.

Some of the tents have a really good view on the Chobe River while others have quite a lot of vegetation blocking the view. So it is dependent which unit you will get to experience the best views. But there were no units with bad views. Prices for dinner are higher than the average standard, that we were used to in Namibia. Even when offered on their website, Gamedrives into Chobe NP could be seasonal and weren’t available during our stay.

This property is exceptional value, the rooms are large and clean with awesome views. They also include a A/C unit, as well as a fan, and power sockets. We were particularly fond of the pool as it too, had great views and was quite private. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, wanting to help where ever possible. Being so close to the river meant the wildlife was also close, especially the elephants at night. The full-day boat safari was very good value and beautiful; we saw an abundance of animals in and out of the water, and the lunch was very good. The area surrounding the camp is very clean, we were particularly impressed by how unpolluted the river was. The food was great and fresh with a couple of options per night. The laundry service was quick and efficient.

We had some planning to do for the next leg of the trip and the WiFi was rather slow during the day, although the evening seemed to be much quicker.

The setting is beautiful, and we loved the pool.

The staff were friendly but untrained and unsupervised. They didn't know how to make a mojito, saying they don't serve cocktails. Training needed! Boat trips not organized properly, we couldn't do a sunset cruise because boats had full day trips. No milk in the room for morning coffee. Cake served on Sunday afternoon, baked without sugar! No coffee or milk served with it, only watery tea. Suggestion for the bedroom: needs backrest behind bed, mosquito nets should reach the floor.
