We had some problems with the house heating for 4- days I’m wondering if the cleaners may have found some keys in a blue keychain string Regards John

"A quirky property, in a great location."

8.0

Dun Brae is a lovely quirky cottage, with some character features. It's in a fantastic location, with an easy 2 minute walk into Dornoch, which is a gorgeous town. Extremely comfortable bed in the master bedroom with good quality linen & towels. Nicely decorated, with a bright, spacious kitchen. Very pretty garden. Easy parking.

We had a few issues which, while taking the edge off our stay, didn't completely spoil it. The contact details provided in case of problems, was to the management agency who responded immediately to our calls. Correspondence received beforehand, leads you to believe that access is via the front door, and that although the lock is a little temperamental, with some perseverance, it would work. Please note, access is through the back door only. The downstairs loo was out of order for the duration of our stay. Work was scheduled to repair this by the 26th Sept. There was a fault with the double doors leading from the 1st lounge into the rest of the cottage. When we arrived, we could only access the kitchen and one lounge, as the doors were completely stuck and, couldn't be opened. After some 15 minutes, we managed to get into the cottage properly. Leaving the doors open wasn't a problem for us, but a joiner hadn't arrived by the time we left. The heating is controlled by a Hive device, and guests aren't allowed to change the settings. The heating is timed to come on and go off at certain times. The property is single glazed, and from 8.30pm, we were very cold, so the blankets on the sofa were put to good use. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery & storage in the kitchen; but if you like to cook, there is only a very limited supply of cookware. There is just one functional mirror, which is in the bathroom, but it's not possible to use a hairdryer in there.

"When coming back to the area, Dun Brae will certainly be our first choice!"

9.0

Lovely cottage. Tastefully decorated. We had all the basic appliances and facilities to make our stay a very pleasant one. Location couldn't be better. Fab that we had parking right there at the back of the house. Cleanliness was Top Class. Communication with the Host was very smooth. Will definitely come back.

Nothing negative to report.
