"I would not recommend anyone to stay in this property."

The property was close to Bamburgh and on the edge of the bay. Had its own allocated parking.

On arrival we found the property was very dirty and had not been serviced at all. The bed had been slept in and the sheets were dirty as were the towels in the bathroom. The kitchen had dirty pots in the dishwasher and sink, crumbs and spills on the worktops and floor. The lounge looked tired and the sofa had signs of spills with dirty tissues between some of the cushions. The stairs carpet was stained and the property smelt stale and musty throughout. The heating was off and it was a cold December evening so some heating would have been welcoming. Alerting this situation to the property manager we were offered a cleaner who lived an hour away to change the beds and towels, later finding out that they would have returned the following day to clean the rest of the property. This was not acceptable to us, with nowhere else to stay overnight and unable to find a reservation for food we had no alternative but to leave. The property owner has refused to compensate us in any way for finding the property in such a state and us having no alternative but to initially stay as we found it, or leave… as we chose to do. We had paid over £750 for our 3 nights stay. Mistakes can be made, however the property owner doesn’t seem to care about what his clients are presented with on arrival and is happy to keep the money that has been paid in advance.

"Good location, clean and comfortable"

Ground floor dark and windowless sitting room leaving only a small sitting area on the first floor.
