Arai Villa Myoko

The house was spacious and comfortably furnished. The beds were very comfortable with high quality linen. The villa is close to Lotte Arai resort (about 5 minute drive) and the managers of the villa were extremely helpful in arranging transport for our group with a neighbour, who was charming and helpful. The manager also arranged dinner for us at a local restaurant which usually only offers lunch and this was a very special experience for us. The drying room was excellent for our ski gear. From the house are views of the surrounding rice fields and up to the mountains.

Very comfortable villa in an outstanding location. Perfect for larger groups with a car to get around.

Sharing one toilet between 8 people can sometimes be a challenge.

Worked perfectly for our ski trip to Lotte Arai Ski resort. It's only a 5 min drive to the resort which made getting to the slopes a breeze. The house and rooms get toasty and warm with the heaters turned on and the bathroom and showers were nice and new. The futons/mattresses were very comfortable and the comforters were very warm. The garage is nice as well to have a snow free place to park. If visiting in the winter and you don't have a 4WD or snowtires make sure you bring some chains.

There could have been more in the way of cooking pans and utensils but we made do with the provided cookware.

The house was beautiful inside, well appointed and perfect for our family of six. Just a few mins drive up to Arai Resort and 20 mins to Joetsu.
