Seafront Family Getaway, Vermont

Stunning views, a homely home away from home, centrally located near shops and walking trails.

No aircon or fans and consequently stiflingly hot in summer. We had trouble sleeping even when leaving some windows open. Speaking of those, windows were filthy. We could barely enjoy the beautiful views that are the main attraction and ended up cleaning two of them ourselves, at the price point the windows should really be cleaned before every guest. Dstv decoder provided, but doesn't function, and was told it's "only for owner's use" on enquiry. There is internet though for your own streaming. If you're international and hoping to see some South African TV you're out of luck unfortunately unless you sign up for DStv Stream and cancel before leaving (expensive). Confusing alarm system that doesn't seem to work and if you ask for clarification get snippy messages from the contact person telling you the information is included in your welcome message even when it isn't. No clear way to tell if it's on or off outside. You end up being a bit paranoid as the house is accessible from the nearby cliff path and strangers often ended up on the back lawn while we were there. The only braai / bbq is in a cottage / granny flat which makes it a bit awkward to use, so we didn't, opting instead to buy food and enjoy with the views. There is only one shower in the main house, with the rest of the ensuites having only baths, worth considering if you're a big family who doesn't like bathing. There are also bright lights outside the house that stay on all night. I guess for security reasons. This made it hard for us to sleep as we prefer dark, and also unfortunately spoiled the night sky since we couldn't see much in the glare.

This is a nice seafront house with direct access to a walking & jogging path along the sea shore. In 15 minutes drive, you can get to Hermanus Cliff Path, Hermanus Whale Watching View Point, as well as Whale Museum. It's convenient to the shopping mall too. We enjoyed our stay there. Nothing fancy but comfortable and it's reasonably priced.

Location is ideal with great views from most parts of the house. Large rooms which can easily accommodate up to 10 guests. House is right on the ocean front with the beach pathway accessible from the yard. We'll equipped with most of what is needed for self catering. It has inverters and lanterns in case power goes out.

All the bathrooms could be updated. Two were tubs only. The four additional sleeping arrangements are in the garage quarters. While lots of pots, pans, dishes...they weren't well organized. There was only one stemmed wine glass. The house is fairly dated but well maintained. There is a washing machine with a dryer rack.

The location is amazing, with sea-views from all the living areas, kitchen and 2 of the bedrooms. House is very well stocked. Ethan was very responsive.

Lovely that all the bathrooms were ensuite but please note that 2 of 4 en-suites only had baths (no shower)

Great spot for a family vacation, the house is pretty much on the beach with the footpath just behind the bushes. Area is very quiet so perfect spot to relax with the waves crashing in front of you. The house has all the amenities and appliances you could think of and need (except for an airfryer 😄) for a long holiday. Even with the below, we'd definitely be back!

Bathrooms could do with a bit of a paint job. And perhaps a better explanation of the house layout, as only 3 rooms (6 beds) are in the house. The other beds are in the cottage outside, with the double being in its own en suite room, and the two singles in the braai area in the cottage. Note the indoor braai is in the cottage and not in the main house.

I absolutely loved everything about the accommodation. The view was breathtaking

Not a deal breaker but shower over bath in 2 of the unsuites would be more convenient than just the bath.
