Gorgeous property, great space for all ages, quiet, close to the beach.

Great location. Well appointed spaces for multiple families. Great functional kitchen for feeding numbers of people.

Could have done with a set of sharp kitchen knives and a better quality vacuum cleaner. Some shade over the veranda. Better instructions for recycled waste.

Awesome place to stay. Very spacious and in a perfect location close to Māhanga Beach. Very comfortable and relaxing.

Just the communication on arrival and waiting 3 hours to access the property. But otherwise everything else was good.

Full kitchen, fireplace with plenty of wood. Multiple living spaces for our family group.

General cleanliness. Instructions to location and advance warning there is no cell reception.

The Location, the property and layout was ideal, loads of space and privacy if you wanted it. The views to the beach. Nice Tavern and shop 10minutes away in Mahia, friendly local people. Nice dairy 15minutes away on the roundabout in Nuhaka. Wairoa is 40minutes away and Gisborne 1hr 15mintues . Dot who is there on hand when there where a couple of issues. We had a wonderful time despite the minor issues and i recommend anyone who wants a nice family holiday get together to try out The Barn.

Unfortunately there where issues with the Septic tank which blocked up on Christmas day of all days, could not use the facilities for the day and had to use the public WC's which is just a 2minute walk, very clean and tidy toilets so it wasn't a major problem using them for 24hours. A thankyou to Dot who came down on Christmas day and tried to sort it but was unsuccessful. The Tank was cleaned on Boxing day morning, very helpful Plumber and sorted within 1hr. Power cuts due the the terrible weather conditions , unable to use the facilities, no power through the night was difficult and again trips to the Public W/C as the water to the bathrooms and house was pumped using electric. Tried using the indoor fire but this was blocked and smoke was streaming out of all the seams and into the living area so we couldn't use the fire, couldn't use the electric heaters as there was no power. The above may sound bad but it was i would say just bad timing, Septic Tanks will Clog up if visitors ram rubbish down the toilets, power cuts do happen and it just happened to be the worst weather on record for the period of time we where there, the Flu to the fire was probably blocked by birds nesting and with the location of this property things like this can and will probably happen. Would i stay here again?. Yes i would.

The spacious area the location it was clean easy to understand instructions Dot was very helpful as was the property manager follow the instructions on how to get to the house go past the marae and take the driveway wide our friends got stuck on the post with their van

Location and the house is amazing. So much space inside and out. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed.
