This is an excellent option for independently-minded travelers. It starts from being about 10 minutes walking distance from Genova Brignole train station which is east of the more frequently-used Genova Principe station. The manager/owner is also responsive despite knowledge of English being low such that communication could be difficult beyond the basics. Even though there's a washing machine in the kitchen, there's also a "Speed Queen" coin laundry (5€ to wash about 8kg of clothes plus 2€ for 10 minutes' worth of drying) 5 minutes away on foot. Cooking or meal-planning for yourself is easy as the kitchen is equipped with utensils, pots and pans, gas stove, fridge-freezer and microwave oven along with grocery stores that are easy to reach just by walking. These are a small Carrefour Express 5 minutes away around the corner and a larger Coop about 15 minutes away to the north. There are also a small gelateria/café and a kebab joint a block away from the apartment if you can't be bothered. Getting to the historic center takes a tiny bit more effort but is easily reached within 15 minutes by taking any one of three bus routes (Nos. 20, 36, 44) or simply walking in a straight line westwards for about 25 minutes. Lastly, it has two air conditioners inside but only the one in the bedroom was working during my stay. It was a godsend when I was there in June during a heatwave blanketing most of the country.

Small point was that only one air conditioner was working.

This apartment is surprisingly cozy and spotlessly clean - the photos don’t fully show how lovely it is. The bed is super comfortable, and it’s just a short walk from Brignole station. The host is kind and welcoming. I’m sure I’ll come back and will definitely recommend it to my friends!
