Riad Lella Chama

The place is lovely with friendly staff. Very good location. Good breakfast. The room was big enough and clean. They arranged a taxi for us from Tangier airport to the riad and, on the day we left, from Chefchaouen to Fes stopping in Volubilis

We stayed in the twin bedroom. There wasn't any privacy to use the toilet, since there is a gap all around the door. The whole bathroom floor gets wet with the shower since there isn't any sort of divide. There is no place to put the luggage.

Breakfast was simple but similar to other places in Morocco and overall, quite nice. SEE BELOW.

FIRST OF ALL - A FAKE REVIEW WAS WRITTEN IN MY NAME, clearly by the riad staff, giving a rating of 10/10. It's very obvious that it is not written by me, not just because I do not agree with the sentiment it expressed. So many issues with this room - it was cramped and the bathroom doors had gaps in them so there was very little privacy. The air con/heater didn't work (but was later fixed), there was no room service ... we even had to ask for extra toilet paper! The staff were so average - vaping inside the property and just sitting around, watchings reels. We were also badgered for a good review when we left!! So unprofessional. (One of them did help us print out a plane ticket, which was nice ... but too little too late) I was already less than impressed with this accommodation, but seeing the fake review written in my name has me fuming! I have attached a photo of the fake review.

Spent 2 nights in riad, booked two rooms one for my husband and I and one for our two teenagers. These was a strong smell of cat pee in kids room coming from the windows, very unpleasant. Strangely enough the staff in the riad stayed talking ( to each other and on the phone) till early hours in the morning, and because every sound in the riad can be heard it was not really possible to fall asleep. On top of that cats of the riad screening at night added to this bad experience. I would not recommend this riad as our experience wasn’t good at all.

Great location, a nice breakfast, and the rooftop was wonderful. It was a beautiful riad!

Coffee pods for the machine in the room and another cup as there were two of us would have been useful.

The location is excellent.

The bath towel is not clean, the bathroom outlet pipe leaks, the room does not provide paper towels, and there is no free water, but we can understand these, after all, it is only a temporary stay for one night. However, the most disappointing reception for us was always the cold face, which made us wonder if we had gone to the wrong place. We spent 11 days in Morocco and stayed in 9 riads. The front desk at each of them was very hospitable, except this one. As we walked, each carrying his or her suitcase across the high threshold of the riad, the service staff just waiting coldly for us to leave. This is the last place we wanted to remember from our trip to Chefshavan.

The room was a bit cramped. We weren’t greeted with the typical Moroccan tea and cookies.

The room was very clean and authentic. Great location. Staff were lovely. We had a great stay.

We went during winter, accomodation was quite cold. Windows into bathroom could be opened from outside. No sound proofing.
