St Ives Bluebell Cottage

Spacious with great facilities for a small family, Very warm and cosy.

Master bed is a little small. There was a very strong smell of sweat/odour of sweaty clothes which was only in the master bedroom. This strangly remained for the whole week

We liked the parking right outside the chalet.

It wasn’t very clean. There were rings left on coasters, hairs on the bedding and the kitchen equipment needs updating. Didn’t want to use the frying pans as they were burnt and didnt trust it. I also wouldn’t call it a cottage it’s a chalet. Cheap double bed noisy springy thing.

The location was good. Beautiful woodland walk nearby. All the places we wanted to visit were easily accessible by car bus and train. The house is well equipped and comfortable.

The tv and Wi-Fi are rubbish. The front door key sticks

The Lodge we stayed in was absolutely immaculate and looked lovely. The beds were lovely and soft to start with, but we all ended up with bad backs as they were too soft, unfortunately. The lodge was in an ideal location for us and had everything you needed for our stay, but the WiFi was extremely poor (mostly unavailable), which was no good for our teen daughter. Please note that paving pathway to property, paving slab is raised, which is very dangerous, and just waiting for an accident to happen for kids and adults (we have reported this to reception). We did try getting into the property upon arrival late at night, and after 30 minutes and 2 phone calls, we were then given the right key code. Apart from these observations, we would highly recommend this holiday let.

Wifi was absolute rubbish plus being in a rural location means cannot get 4g signal on our phones. Whole property felt damp on a few different occasions. Beds way too soft, made us feel almost sea sick. Definately mice or squirrells nesting in the ceiling between ground floor and 1st floor, kept us awake at night running about right above us. No tumble dryer or hair dryer in the property contrary to description on booking.com. Not enough hot water for a family of 5 to have showers one after another. Bigger boiler/combi needed i think.

Shouldn't advertise WiFi as it had 1% uptime and shouldn't be our job to strip beds. Departure time way too early

Good points😀 - Spacious for our family of 5 - Free parking just outside the property - Place is secure as it’s inside a holiday park - Good base to explore St Ives and other Cornwall attractions, around 20-30 minutes drive to nearby beaches - Equipped kitchen, dining and living room where the family can stay together

Things that need improvement - The wifi does not work at all inside the cottage and outside - You have to go elsewhere for internet as there is zero 4g/5g coverage - Cleanliness can be improved - Take note to bring all your consumables including toilet tissues, hand soap, dishwashing liquid (1 dishwasher tablet was provided)

The cottage was very nice and clean.

Great location and the site is very peaceful. The on-site shop was handy as its a 10 minute drive to the nearest supermarket.
