Beside The River

I like the property, it’s very nice and river view is so good ,, but there is no food options nearby. I would not recommend. Breakfast we had is not that good .. The bread which host serve is having ants 🐜 in it, But what to say to them, she don’t even check before serving. I don’t like the stay.

The hostess was lovely, even took us to meet her charming elderly parents.. She made excellent Keralan food. The location was good for walking around the rural environment. The backwater boat trip was really interesting.

Think two nights might have been enough as not a lot to do. On advice we took a boat trip to Alleppey - would not recommend that as Alleppey is busy, noisy and pretty scruffy.

The owner of this property, Lisa, is a star. The family rebuilt this property after the floods. Lisa is tenacious, kind, thoughtful, and an excellent and generous cook, organiser of sunrise and sunset boat trips on the glorious backwaters, and, whilst we were there, a hostess to a film crew! We hope to stay in touch and to return.

We were so happy to stay there and sad to leave! Lisa was a great host, we felt very good at their place. We enjoyed the charming house, the location to walk, cycle and boat tour from the house. The food was so good and varied! Also there is loads of yummy food so you may have to say no at times ☺️ Lisa can help to book the boat tour, and she has bikes and kayak to rent. Thanks and we’ll come back!

This is the perfect stay if you are looking for time in nature and the backwaters. Room is comfortable, clean, and with AC - so you can relax perfectly in the room. The balcony is great too and offers direct view on the littler river. The host Lizza is kind and fun, always there to help, Plan trips, cook food for you. The whole house is so beautiful, so you will enjoy having breakfast/dinner on the long table in the Main hall. This place seems suitable for anyone: alone-traveller, backpackers, couples, familys with kids. They have a garden to hang out too! And best part: its only 10sec walk to the starting point of your boat trip (Lizza will arrange)! Then you can discover lakes, big rivers, small rivers and village life in the backwaters. Ask Lizza for a TukTuk (Autoriksha) drive through the little streets through this area, so you will see more small rivers with plants, more village life, rice plantages and local life :) This is the place to be! Its perfect for taking a walk too :) Thanks Lizza!

The host was amazing and helped arrange a lovely sunset boat ride. Would definitely recommend and the host cooked us a lovely breakfast and dinner during our visit.

Lovely cool room with AC, firm bed, complete bathroom. Nice communal areas with fans for playing cards, reading etc, and hammocks in the garden. Watched a cooking demonstration with Lisa, can't wait to get home and see how my versions turn out! Surprisingly few mosquitoes. Also did a lovely sunset canoe tour, arranged by Lisa, and toddy shop lunch too. Should really have stayed longer.

It was such a pleasure to stay in this property! Everything is super clean, house is beautiful, the owner prepares dinner and breakfast and is a very kind person. Also, the house is by the boat stopping station so you can jump straight into the boat and have a tour. 10/10

Wow, AMAZING! Very peaceful and relaxing. Lisa (host) really made us feel at home, with her kind and warm nature, not forgetting her tasty home cooked meals. Lisa was very helpful, booking taxis and our own river cruise of the back waters. Highly recommend if it’s Peace and Quiet you are looking for. Will definitely return one day.
