Very warm and comfy, even when it was cold and raining...all under cover...

Road from main road to oxygen could be tricky for non-4x4 cars....very slippery when it's raining.

We loved everything. The owner was very friendly and very helpful regarding any questions asked on how to operate things. The view was amazing. And it's 3km from Orania making it a convenient break - away spot. Close by but not too close.

We traveled as a group and rented out 4 wagons. Each wagon was slightly different from one another in size and bathroom facility. The linens and the beds were some of the most comfortable we experienced on our whole trip. We enjoyed the experience immensely, especially the early sunrise from the decks of each wagon. Everyone in the town stores and restaurants were extremely friendly. The bathroom is outside of the wagon area within a short walk. Bring a flashlight.

There are harmless spiders in the bathrooms, but what can you expect when you are out in the middle of the karoo? Don't let this put you off.

Our stay at Groot Gryses Adam Se Uitspanning was truly unforgettable—sleeping in the beautifully restored oxwagons without electricity or WiFi gave us a peaceful escape from everyday life. We loved the quiet, the connection with nature, and the incredible attention to historical detail. The facilities were spotless, the host warm and welcoming, and at night while we braaied under the stars, the Milky Way lit up the sky in the most magical way.
