Spacious room with comfortable bed. Hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Area is very quiet and calm. We did a kayaking for two days and it was amazing. Food was very delicious. Thank you guys for your space!

Een prachtige locatie met een ontzettend lieve en gastvrije eigenaar die heerlijk kan koken. Deze plek moet je bezoeken als je in Sri lanka bent! Een uniek plekje aan een mooi water en een prachtig gebouwd huisje. Er zit een mooi verhaal achter het opzetten van deze locatie. Ook zeker mee het water op gaan met een vissersmannetje!

A hidden gem! This tiny, simple lodge is perfect for those seeking to connect with nature and experience personable Sri-Lankan hospitality. My wife and I stayed there for two nights, and we loved it. The location is amazing. The property is in a sparsely populated area adjacent to the National Park, so you feel you're pretty much in the middle of the jungle. Our room was literally meters away from a beautiful lake that attracts many birds, peacocks, and quite a few monkeys. Early in the morning, you can hear the jungle waking up with all its intensity– such a lovely experience. I had a nice swim at the lake, and the water was pleasant. Roshani, the young owner of the place, was super friendly and helpful. The way she treated us made us feel like guests staying at a friend's place, rather than in a hotel. When my wife felt ill with the flu, Roshani sent her husband to buy her medicine, and was always attentive to see how she was feeling. She helped us arrange a tuk-tuk to get to the National Park, as well as the Jeep ride inside the park. Her homemade food was delicious– among the best we've had in Sri Lanka. If you stay here, I highly recommend taking the lake safari. Roshani arranged it for us and was super affordable. A local fisherman in a canoe picked us up early in the morning and took us for an hour and a half ride around the lake. We saw many types of birds, and while we didn't see any wild elephants, they told us that it's not uncommon to spot them bathing. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay, but do keep in mind this is a very simple, austere lodge. There is no wifi or luxury of any type, but that's kind of the point!

Everything was great!

De hostess was super aardig en lief. Het verblijf was werkelijk prachtig en super rustgevend. De kamer ook heel schoon. In de avond werd er een kampvuur voor ons aangestoken en werd de tuin verlicht met vuur en lichtjes. Ook werd er geweldig lekker voor ons gekookt. In de ochtend ook nog een heerlijk ontbijt. Zeker aan te raden als je op zoek bent naar een rustig plekje. Het kajakken over het meer was zo gaaf!

What a magical place! Roshani and her husband made us feel truly at home from the moment we arrived. She prepared lunch, dinner, and breakfast in her special kitchen and kindly explained her cooking along the way. Everything was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is peaceful and authentic, and the hospitality is exceptional.

Nothing. Everything exceeded our expectations.

Our host was so helpful and cooked us delicious meals. The property itself was stunning and so peaceful. We saw elephants without having to pay for entrance to the national park and took the canoe out in the morning with a local fisherman. We saw crocs and an incredible array of birds. I can't really express how much lovely our host was. She's very interested in books so she'd be so happy if you're able to leave some with her. We would 100% come again.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Glimra Eco Lodge. We received a very warm welcome from Roshani, who generously shared insights into life in Sri Lanka and its local cuisine. She prepared three meals a day for us, and it was by far the best food we had during our month in Sri Lanka. We were also very pleased with the accommodation itself, which was comfortable and thoughtfully maintained, and daily room service was provided as well. The surrounding nature was beautiful, and during our kayak tours we were able to observe a wide variety of animals. What made the stay truly special was the warm and personal atmosphere throughout our time there. It was the perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy the surrounding nature. We already miss our time at the lodge very much and hope to come back one day.

Roshani was an AMAZING host! She and her team ensured that our space was spotlessly clean, and that we had everything we needed. Her food was the best Sri Lankan food I've had so far, and this was my third trip to Sri Lanka! What a peaceful location...we hung a hammock between the trees, went swimming, and enjoyed the sounds of the birds during our relaxing stay. Hope to come again!

Such a magical place! Sleeping in beautiful nature right in front of the lake, where we did a lot of kayaking which was so peaceful and we could see a lot of birds as well buffalos. Also, Roshani gave us a great alternative to the expensive and crowded jeep safari when she arranged a tuktuk driver for us who got us to a place nearby to see elefants. We had amazing selfmade food (breakfast, lunch and dinners) - the best food we had on our trip so far!! Great talking to Roshani to hear her inspiring story. Besides all the aforesaid: you support a wonderful local business staying with her. Highly recommended!!
