Duplex el Madina

When we arrived, we we're surprised with a free upgrade. An 3 bedroom apartment instead of a 2 bedroom apartment. Het house was stunning! We felt like the king and queen! A traditional Moroccan house build but recently build with all the modern conviniences. The appartement is inside a compound, nice and quiet and with security. And a few restaurants, little supermarkets and the swimming pool are inside the compound. In the busy Marrakesh, this place feels like a breeze being so nice and calm. And with a cab or a 30 minuten walk you'll get to the busy center of Marrakesh in no time.

Nothing.

I liked nothing about the apartment we were allocated. It is in a residential area. There is a small supermarket and a couple of eating places on site, 1 of which was fine the other they couldnt care less if they served you or not.

The apartment was filthy, light switches grubby, bird droppings on the dining furniture and floor, we had to wash the microwave plate before using, there was broken crockery and no kettle. Someone's washing was in the washing machine. The glass table on the rooftop terrace was cracked and chipped which is dangerous. All the shelves and window ledges were dusty. This place hadn't had a decent clean in a long time. Numero 1, 2 bedroom townhouse is definitely not the place to stay.

Very close to old town, have nice pool but very cold water in April

Very old and need a lot of maintenance, a lot of things not thought about We had terrace on the top, was very old and dusty, no one got it ready no Soap in the bathrooms, hand towels, no bins in the bathroom, no dark curtains in the room. Tv was not working, but after asking host it was installed on our second day, no coffee machine , cattle not working Water tab in one of the bathrooms was broken, they fitted new one when we asked I don’t think this property was ready for rent and for money we paid I think it should be better condition

The duplex we stayed in was very old and needs renovation. It was different from the photos showing in the booking.com site.

Location and view.

The apartment was not to the expectation. The rooms were completely different than the pictures. Broken kitchen utensils, dirty towels, broken chairs etc

The host communicates very well in english and will come to the gate of the residential area. Its near to medina (though the big square is around 1.5km walk, which i joyfully did each time). We ended up getting a bigger unit than we booked so we were delighted. It has heaters in bedrooms, a washing machine, heated tap water everywhere, working gas so we could cook and lot of utensils which you can even host a feast (i dont know about all units but our unit was so good that we ended up extending for 3 more days). It has a nice roof with chairs and tables and bbq place. I have never stayed in such luxury home. Also the wifi works very well in the hall, though the unit is very big (three stories) so reception at all places were not equal but thats not the owners fault, its physics. In my bedroom I used to use orange and i got really good reception. Also many restaurants in the in the area and one which opens 24/7. Some grocery shops, cafe and a spa also. Will definitely stay here if I am back in marrakech.
