El Xalli Hotel

Breakfast and dinner were great but they don't have a full, all-day menu of meals. They have some all-day snacks but for a full lunch, they give you menu of a neighboring hotel's food service and suggest you order from them with an hour's notice. If they do their own full day offering of meals, they would be a complete, fully-functioning hotel.

THERE IS NO AIRPORT "SHUTTLE"! They just use local car service which can be abysmal. For my arrival (from airport to hotel) I booked ahead via a separate private car company. It was cheaper than the amount the hotel quoted me and they were great. I forgot to book the return trip back to the airport so when the hotel offered their "shuttle", I decided to use it. I severely regret that decision. The car they sent was probably a 30+ year old car that seemed to have trouble coming up the ramp to the hotel. Driver couldn't open the back door for the luggage and had to come out and manually open it with his keys. Then when I got in, he turned on the "AC" and shut all the windows. I sat in the back baking in the hot air. He had to stop at a gas station so at that moment I asked if I could sit in the front because the AC air wasn't getting to me. When I sat down in the front and felt the air from the vent, I realized it was hot air! I asked him to open the windows and only then did he admit that the AC wasn't working! (How long was he going to keep up that charade for pride's sake? Until we both died of a heat stroke??). Of course I don't blame the hotel for the car's condition which they probably didn't predict, but they shouldn't be using the word "shuttle" in their communication and a broken car like that shouldn't cost more than a separate car service.

The Breakfast was exceptional, some dishes were included with the stay. Location is perfect, about a 15 minute walk to EL Zonte beach. Every request was met from airport shuttle service, private transportation to nearby cities, tour guides, massages, and laundry service. Extremely organized, friendly, and attentive.

It mentioned hot water was to be included with the unit but apparently the water heater wasn’t working so they gave me a small discount for the inconvenience. It was missing hammocks.

Instalaciones limpias y cómodas. Buenas habitaciones, ideal para familia/grupo grande. Buenas vistas, pero algo alejado si no tienes transporte propio. Entrada y salida a la carretera compleja. Lo recomiendo.

Poca variedad en el desayuno incluido y para el resto de comidas dependes de un repartidor que a veces no trabaja. Como punto negativo a mejorar, no se paraban de caer frutas de los arboles que podían hacer daño al caerte encima (fue mi caso)

peligroso acceso para entrada y salida del hotel en medio de una curva en la autopista en la habitacion que me costo más de uss100 la noche no tenía agua caliente y encima habia un ruido por la.lavanderia que estaba al lado que no me dejo descansar ni disfrutar la estadía,, no tienen toalla para la pileta tenes que usar las toallas qué te bañas No volvería ni lo recomiendo

A welcoming new space at an old surf favorite! Our family has been coming to el Zonte for years and recent investments have outpriced us on the Oceanside. How lovely to find El Xalli- nestled in the hills, just a short walk to the beach. The staff were attentive, the tipico breakfast was outstanding, and the views of the ocean from the pools were beautiful. Our apartment was comfortable and a great value. We particularly enjoyed the sister property to park our car with a full restaurant, dedicated yoga space and full kitchen! El Xalli has won our family over and we will be returning for years to come.

The entrance to the property is on the curve of a hillside- so it sneaks up on you and getting out with traffic in both directions can be a bit challenging.
