The Purple House

The Purple House is a family owned homestay. As you enter there is an archway covered with bougainvillea, vines and assorted trees & flowers fill in the rest of the grounds for a very inviting environment. The rooms are large, bright, clean, well maintained and have up-to-date facilities such as hot water showers, a large fridge, toaster, kettle, and convenient charging for your devices at bedside. The Internet reception is excellent. K Breakfast includes fresh ground coffee, assorted teas, yogurt, bread for toast, butter & jam, and various fruits. Most important are the owners who both speak English well, are very informed about things of interest to tourists and are incredibly good hosts. They can help out with everything from tranportation needs, to getting a guide to sightseeing, to where to eat different kinds of food. The location is on the edge of the city with easy access to the main city but also not far from tourist attractions. You may have to put up with some minor local sounds such as the crowing of roosters in the morning!

Khemrak and Sreyleak were amazing hosts. They made sure I had everything I needed. They provided a list of things to do, where to buy my Angkor Wat tickets, had a bike for me to rent, a great self prepared breakfast, lots of water... Etc They even got up at 4:30 in the morning to make sure I had everything I needed to start my day off as I set off to watch the sunrise. Most importantly, they were fun to hang out with. Yes, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. And the outdoors was full of beautiful greenery.

Peaceful location away from tourist area in central town but well located for Ankor Wat and other attractions. Hosts made excellent recommendations for trips and were happy to help with arranging transport when required. They organised circus tickets for us which is a ‘must-do’ not only for the acrobats and actors but for the music too which is live and excellent.

Nothing, although be prepared for a few cockerels which can be heard nearby, but it’s part of the charm!

Very accommodating the service was incredible, Also there is a mini fridge in your room with multiple beverages. It has a beautiful garden which I spent most of my mornings in reflecting on how amazing Cambodia is I really enjoyed my stay and will go back again.

I stayed for 4 nights at The Purple House in Siem Reap. From the time I arrived until my departure I was treated by my hosts like one of the family. The location is a few kilometers away from the city centre but an easy tuk tuk or bicycle ride away from city centre and the Angkor Wat temple. The room was very clean and spacious and equipped with everything one would need during their stay in Siem Reap. I highly recommend The Purple House to anyone planning to visit and stay in Siem Reap.

Everything was perfect

Before we even arrived we felt like we’re about to visit friends and our stay for sure felt like that! Cosy village outside the bustle of Siem Reap - which is still easily accessible by tuktuk if you want to explore and learn about the region/country’s history and very close to Angkor Wat temples. The Purple House was our tranquil home to relax and recharge after exploring both, the city and temples.
