Apartamentos Rosa do Bairro Alto

Very convenient to use as a base to walk around Lisbon. Simple clean apartment with generous accommodation for two people.

The check-in process was a little impersonal and made you feel more like a revenue generator than a guest. The apartment is new and well designed but is already showing signs of wear and tear due to quality of finish, but perfectly adequate for a short stay.

The property is beautiful, large and very comfortable with very close links to the sights of this gorgeous city!

The property had clearly not been used or aired out in some time. It was dusty with a few items unclean. The bedding in the wardrobe and pillows on the bed smelt used. The navy blue bath mat in the bathroom had very clearly been used for a long while without having been cleaned, fortunately there was a clean one in the cupboard in the bathroom. The sleeper couch needs replacing. Some instructions on expectations would be good in terms of arrival - if I hadn't contacted the host, I'm not sure we would have gotten in for check in, however Santos was very helpful once we managed to make contact. Not sure of what the expectation was on how to leave the apartment, so maybe an airb&b style booklet could be helpful too. A plunger for the shower drain could be a good addition to the property too.

Booked 4 nights but woke on the first morning to find the bed, pillows ,headboard, electric sockets, wardrobe crawling with hundreds of bedbugs. When squashing bugs they exploded with fresh blood!Had to remove and inspect all clothes and suitcases. Even found on walls in adjacent living room.Telephoned owner who hung up when I said "bed bugs" then refused to pick up call. Checked out the same morning.Called booking.com who were helpful and refunded remaining 3 nights although stay in Lisbon had to be cut short due to high cost and limited availability of alternative accommodation at short notice. Absolutely shocked to find apartment being advertised on booking.com for the 3 nights that we had cancelled despite being infested with bed bugs and the walls covered with blood from squashed insects.

Bed Bugs! I have filed a claim to get my money back!
