"A great place to stay."

The location of this appartment is really good and numerous restaurants can be found within the Historic Centre. The location is in a quiet back-street. The whole Historic Centre is pretty much flat and easy to walk around. After some initial Italian-only communications with our host (which needed Google Translate to sort out) we then managed to succesfully communicate in English. I am all in favour of using the local language wherever possible but sometimes it can be easy to miss something important if you don't understand correctly.

The only real downside is for car drivers. There is no local parking other than drop-off and loading within specific hours within the ZTL; for loading and unloading it's only about 50-100m from the appartment. The nearest large car park is on the other side of the Historic Centre with a bizarre mix of PAID and FREE spaces within the same area! Unfortunately the free spaces are VERY limited (maybe less than 10% of the total number of spaces), so sometimes it was a bit of a bun-fight and a lot of cruising around trying to find a free space. On the Saturday night we were there, there was clearly an "event" on and the place was full of people (and lots of police) and we gave up trying to get a space, even by paying, because even the Italians didn't seem to know how to use the parking meters (long queues and a lot of discussion)! In the end we found some street parking about 1Km away from the appartment.

"Wonderful flat in the heart of Alghero to discover the city and the nearby beaches and sights."

Monica and her family welcomed us at the flat. The communication was very easy and quick before and during our stay for two nights in Alghero. The flat is in the middle of the old town and perfect to enjoy visiting the city as well as discover the restaurants and little streets. Parking was not possible directly at the flat, but we were able to find also free parking options in a 10 min walking distance. The flat is properly equipped with everything you need. We can definitely recommend staying here.
