Abbey Travel Lodge Motel

Location was good being handy to the Hospital for visiting.

The motel complex needs a revamp and looked deserted when we arrived with a big closed sign on the office door. A staff member who was quite friendly eventually appeared and gave us the key to our room which we had booked on line a couple of days earlier. The rooms appear to be in transition from social housing and although reasonably clean and tidy, are in need of a major revamp. Interior fittings were dated and worn with missing door handles and light shades.

Inviting room and bathroom. Comfortable bed, good TV and most of what we needed for senior comfort for a night.

A bigger dining table maybe, A small table on other side of bed and a couple of comfortable lounge chairs. Too uncomfortable sitting on bed to watch TV- maybe a few bigger cushions on the bed instead of lounge chairs.

Beautiful people, very friendly and welcoming.

I like the setting..

The front door lick needs replacing..
