Historic 1600 Cottage with Hot Tub, Private Estate

Super location at this historic home just outside Stirling, clean, quiky cottage, very friendly hosts.

I waited long before posting my advice because I hesitated to write what is below : Let's hope this will help our host to react. The place is wonderful but you really feel that you're not part of it - Everywhere in the park, there are a "no trepassing" signs - hosts leave in the house nearby but never propose to see their garden (which seemed to be beautiful) - It's clear that they did not have to - but a proposal (that we would have denied) would have been welcome and appreciated. We REALLY and DEEPLY felt as "you pay for the house, stay in your part of the property while we stay in our part". It leave a bitter taste. On top of this, shower heater is not at the level of the price we paid (a kind of outdated electric heater which is capable of heating in real time a tiny amount of water) - clearly a priority to upgrade when finance will allow. Some minor problems with Internet which were promptly adressed and solved by our host (fortunately we had this problem, then we met them - Not sure it would have been the case if we had not had this problem - see above ...)

Beautiful wing of a large mansion. 2 large bedrooms and a children's room upstairs. Large well-equiped kitchen, dinning room, lounge room and a second dining area. All comfortably furnished with some period furniture to suit the location. Private garden area with a barbeque. Bathrooms were comfortable, including bath and shower. Good wifi and washing machine available.

Not much, but hard to get the temperature right in the showers!

Lovely house in a beautiful location. Stirling just is just a short drive away. it's a great location to visit the sites or go walking up the mountains. A few dear popped into the garden to say hello. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Beautiful and cozy place with picturesque nature surroundings. Close to cities and nature. In the morning welcome us with wise owl and hopping rabbits:)
