Villa Omah Semar

The whole experienced staying here is fantastic, the room, view, and comfort. The host Mai are very help full and initiative. She is nonstop cleaning the villa area for our convenient because the villa is just right below of Mt. Agung that makes the wind really strong. But we love it, we didnt use the ac at night and just open our sliding door and window to keep the cool breeze in. Breakfast is basic but just perfect for us. In the afternoon we ask for ginger tea to enjoy the sunset. The area of the villa is nice to have morning morning walk, and next to us there is a cattle and chicken farm that enhance our stay. We add an extra bed for our 2 kids and the price are reasonable. If you love outdoor activities such as hike and dive, this is the place.

We recently stayed at Villa Omah Semar and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The location is amazing, nestled away from the main road to Tulamben, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Our host, May (she is a star), was incredibly caring and made us feel warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived until the day we left. She was always ready to help with activities and other necessities, including arranging scooter rentals and scuba diving bookings. The house itself is wonderful, with a view that is both stunning and calming. We spent 5 days here, and every morning we enjoyed a luxurious and tranquil breakfast on the veranda. It was the perfect way to start our day. Overall, our stay at Villa Omah Semar was nothing short of perfect, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Really recommends this place for people who wants to be on the north side of Bali.

We liked the setting with beautiful garden, semi rural surrounds, bird life, the pool, the spaciousness of the room, bathroom and balcony; and the delightful host. Generous breakfasts in the garden. Views of the volcano were special, particularly sunrise. Close enough to restaurants and warungs and the rocky beach although the walk is a bit tricky due to lack of paths to road. We loved it and had a fabulous 4 night stay.

Tulumben village is a 25 to 30 minute walk from the villa and there are no paths along the street, so the walk is tricky with many trucks passing. Maybe better to drive instead? We did manage walks every day with no incidents however. The other pluses easily outweighed this though.

Could not have been happier with our stay. Clean, comfortable, well appointed and the hosts could not have done more to make our stay even better.

Indeed one of the best accommodation we’ve experienced so far… Rudi and May are so nice and they are always ready to help if you need something, even when you are outside and have any issues, they are ready to help… the accommodation is super, fresh towels and breakfast every day. OMG Absolutely Everything. Rudi and May are truly incredible and so much more than a little bit fabulous. They are quiet simply the warmest, most hospitable, friendly, helpful, interesting, flexible and beautifully authentic hosts on the planet. They have created together a little paradise just outside Tulamben. The villa itself is out of this world stunning - it is truly vast, especially the bathroom which has a bath the size of a small swimming pool and a capacious wet room. The villa has been thoughtfully decorated with great storage spaces and a small kitchenette complete with fridge and tea/coffee making facilities - the hosts are able to provide other beverages at extremely reasonable prices and we were treated to welcome drinks and generous deliveres of coffee each day - often with cookies! Anyone choosing to stay here could not fail to be blown away by both the place and the people. Both of our gorgeous hosts went way above and beyond, providing erudite advice from their wealth of local knowledge and when we discovered it wouldn't be the best idea to hire scooters (neither of us having experience), they were so quick to help us with transport: finding local drivers, taking us to the dive centre and Rudi even kindly provided a taxi service to get us to a local restaurant one evening. I could go on and on raving about this place but just wanted to add we had the very, very, very best breakfasts here during our entire stay in Bali. So much so that we spent the remainder of the 2 weeks lamenting and longing for May's pancakes and bacon. Nearby Tumlaben is known for it's diving - we used Tulamben Wreck Divers and Manu and Sukkha were superb dive guides. Both the SS Liberty and the drop off can be experienced even by beginner divers - easy beach side access. Oh and Rudi is also an avid diver with tons of local knowlege and huge enthusiasm.

You do ideally need to have a car or hire scooters. The roads are however pretty quite and it's only a short hop into Tumlaben and about 15 mins by car to Amed which has more in the way of eating options.

One of the best places I stayed at Bali! The apartment is very big, a real Villa. The bed and bathroom are perfect, including the huge family bathtub. In front of the large balcony lays your big private infinity pool with magnificent views on Mount Agung. All cleaned every day. The owners, Rudy and May, live in the house behind the villa and are incredibly kind. They made me feel very welcome and treated me like family. Were always there to help and in for a nice conversation. They also cooked for me one night because it was heavily raining. Very sweet! Furthermore, breakfast was delicious and WiFi was really fast. I came to Tulamben to work and dive & planned to stay for two nights, but loved the place, serene rest and privacy so much that I extended my stay with some days. Will come back once!
