Two Bedroom Apartment-Central Edinburgh-Old Town-licensed

The apartment was nice, with a comfortable bed and good location (though the pictures are retouched and it’s not as new as shown). It was fairly clean.

We originally found it on Airbnb (where it was advertised with a washer/dryer) but booked via Booking. In reality, there was no dryer, and the washing machine was hidden in a hard-to-access locker, unused for months. Customer service replied quickly but asked us to only use it during the daytime, as they were worried it might break since it hadn’t been used since being locked away—something that didn’t fit our plans. The walls are paper thin—neighbors’ TV and music made it feel like they were in the room with us, past midnight and again from 6 am, making it very hard to sleep. Taking off points for the false advertising and the noise.

Beds were okay for temporary sleeping, the shower didn't have great pressure, old stale coffee found in the kitchen, and a lack of kitchen utensils. Generally the whole apartment needs renovating

The kitchen was very modern, beautiful and the location was ideal to just head off walking for the day. The host was very responsive online before hand and sent very clear instructions on how to access the keys and access the property.

It wasn't as nice as I thought. The photos on the advert are correct but not accurate if that makes sense. Everything in the photos was there, but it was more what they didn't show. I thought we were getting somewhere upmarket based on the photos but it was actually just really well decorated in parts and the rest was very old and a bit shook. The apartment door is very old and didn't look very secure, the carpets are a bit dated and the walls are paper thin as well as the windows so it was quite cold, but due to it's size it heated up fast. Overall it was fine, I wouldn't recommend it as fancy, but I would absolutely recommend it as clean, well serviced, well located.
