the ocean view was nice

The booking process should have been a clue to cancel. In my more than 10 years of travel I have never been asked to send photos of our passports and credit card. upon arrival we were again asked to fill out forms with our passport information and then required to leave our finger prints. The forms were only in Spanish so we had to have them interpreted before we would sign them. Upon arrival into our unit we found the bathroom to have a dirty mirror and walls, the floors looked like they hadn’t been swept, and the windows to the sliding glass were dirty. The washing machine needs a good cleaning. I’m not sure if the owner is aware but front loading machines need regular cleaning and maintenance. The lint trap in the dryer was packed full. That’s a great way to start a dryer fire. There are no hot pads for using the oven and stove and there is no where to hang your towels. They only provide you with 2 bath towels and two hand towels. There needs to be a place to hang them between uses. The furniture was not comfortable at all. The mattress and pillows are terrible. The worst thing in the whole apartment was that the bed linens were dirty! They had not been washed from the previous renters! Additionally, we felt that having to make a $100 deposit (we did get it refunded) and having to pay a $50 cleaning fee was a bit excessive considering the apartment clearly had not been cleaned.
