The Nook Central Harrogate Apartment with Parking, Sleeps 2

Nicely decorated apartment with car park space. Good sized living room and bedroom. Great location within easy walk of town centre, bus and train station, and Valley Gardens.

The apartment is quite dark, but it's a basement flat, so you have to accept that. Outside entrance area is quite dirty and scruffy. It would benefit from a clean, or better still, a coat of paint. The lighting in the bathroom is quite poor- I struggled to see well to shave. There's a light fitting over the sink, but the bulb wasn't working. And the toilet is in quite an awkward space, especially if you're tall. Actually, if you're tall (I'm a little over 6ft), mind your head going through the door ways! There's a coffee pod machine, but no pods are supplied. We thought there were pods to start with, but they turned out just to be the milk pods from a 2-pod coffee, probably left by the previous guests. There's no microwave. There's no dishwasher and the sink/drainer is quite small. Also, we had to wash everything before we could use it in the kitchen. Check-out time seemed particularly early (10am) and the owners were inflexible about us leaving our car there for an hour after checkout time. Even though their previous communication asked if we wanted to extend our stay, so it didn't seem like anyone else was arriving after us. We also received a message threatening extra charges if we were late checking out. It all just felt a bit unfriendly.
