Morningside Studio apartment, load shedding proof

Great location close to some of the best Wine Farms. Lovely spacious room, well equipped. Was able to make use of the washing machine which was a bonus. Well equipped for a short stay, lovely rusks and milk for Tea/Coffee. Provided us with Water as an issue for one day with the municipal supply. Lovely hosts, excellent communication. Lovely dog, so friendly!

Bed was comfy but a little squeaky, maybe a shelf in the bathroom for our toiletries but just constructive comments as otherwise everything was thought of. Happy to stay again

I booked this apartment for my parents and they loved it, it was clean & neat. A bonus as my moms favourite coffee was to offer. They felt well rested and enjoyed this apartment, the location was perfect as they visited louerensford & Vergelegen. I would 100% recommend this apartment to anyone in the area.

Collecting the keys to the property was very easy and explained by the host via the app. Parking space was big. The accommodation has the potential to be beautiful but needs a revamp and to be maintained more often and a full deep clean before a new guest arrives. If you aren't planning on staying inside for long periods of time and not too particular on it being spotless, it's fine. It technically is value for money and matches the price in a way I guess compared to other places in the area. So expect to get what you are paying for I suppose.

The property was unfortunately not what I expected. I am a bit of a hygiene "freak" and unfortunately it wasn't clean enough for me. The electrical plugs next to the bed were dirty, the basin in the bathroom and bathroom in general wasn't very clean and had marks, mould in the shower. There were spiders (daddy long legs) hanging in the shower and one by the bedside table too. I struggled for hours to figure out where the light switch was as it was in the far corner behind a pot plant and not anywhere near the door where I would generally expect to find the main light switch which was funny at first but a tad confusing and frustrating when I literally couldn't find it. The property location was suitable for the occasion but I didn't feel comfortable there alone as a woman if I'm being honest. I didn't meet the hosts so I didn't really know who exactly was on the property, the area was very noisy whilst I was there (which usually doesn't bother me), there was a worker on the property on the last day I wasn't aware of. I am very aware and sometimes paranoid from previous experiences in Johannesburg and was not used to the low walls, and limited security etc. hence not being too comfortable.

I was expecting to find a receptionist Or any person who will welcome us and explain something about the place but instead, nobody was there. We only received the message of keys 🔑 which were locked outside the gate in the box..

The dogs which were always piping through the sliding door, were really frightening us. We us to 🔐 ourselves in the room. We never enjoyed ourselves for that 2 days of our stay at Morningside. That is why we decided to move.

The property was absolutely stunning!!! It was so spacious and the outdoor area was amazing, we really loved taking advantage of the braai area and the outdoor seating

I do wish it was stocked slightly better with cutlery/crockery, just the basics like including a pair of scissors and lighters and a bathmat for the when you come out the shower.

Peaceful and quiet.
