"Overall fine & very clean. But basic, & cold in the Winter."

6.0

Room & provided kitchen equipment was clean and as described. Bed was comfy enough. Shower lovely and hot and with strong water pressure! Very close to a shopping area with a Lidl (for food) and a Greggs (for morning coffee) which was very beneficial. There was also a Dominoes Pizza and a few other takeaway food options. Overall it was good & fine & I probably will return - but the dislikes detailed below were annoying (I can plan ahead better next time now I know!).

Incredibly basic amenities. I chose this venue because of the kitchen, but if I return I will need to bring a lot of my own equipment - pots and pans are provided, but no spoon/spatula to use with them; chopping board is provided, but no knife to chop food with. No kitchen towel for drying dishes. Oh, and it took me ages to work out how to use the hob! To the hosts - maybe you could provide an info sheet? (Tap once on the on button, then *double-tap* the button for the ring you want, then arrow keys to change temp up and down) Very cold room! The heater only turns on for 2 hours max at a time, you have to turn it back on again once this time has elapsed. This meant I returned to a very cold room each day (as it wasn't on while I was out) and it got very very cold overnight and woke me up often - had to sleep in layers of clothes & do several mid-night quick dashes across the room to turn the heater back on! Maybe a thicker duvet or some extra blankets could be provided during the winter months? Check in was difficult, had to wait what felt like a very long time for reception to turn up (was probably about 15-20 minutes). You can't even access the building without help from reception and I was traveling during very cold weather. Fortunately another resident took pity on me and let me in so I could wait in the lobby. Another two travellers were also left waiting until reception arrived to check us in. Wifi. Wifi is provided but as another traveller has noted in the reviews, you have to ask for it - which I didn't think to do as usually the information is in the room or given to you at check in. I ended up just going without and relying on my mobile data as it was too cold to trek back to reception to find out the details. Tip to the hosts - could this be pinned onto the room pinboard alongside your other information, or added to the room card envelope alongside the room number etc?

the bed is comfortable.

I had the pleasure of moving into Nottingham Two on September 2nd, and what a memorable welcome it was. The receptionist—clearly trained in the art of selective blindness—managed to stare at her screen as if it were the Mona Lisa, pretending not to notice me. When I finally said “hi,” she graced me with a monotone “two seconds,” without even looking up. Charming. When I eventually received my room card, she mumbled the directions so fast and vague that my friend and I, dragging heavy suitcases in the rain, ended up wandering around like lost tourists—only to discover I’d been assigned the farthest possible block (G, naturally). Wi-Fi instructions? Of course not. I had to trek another ten minutes back to ask. One might almost think it was deliberate. But don’t worry, the real fun began once I saw the room. Block G, 8C: toilets with blocked pipes, insects flying in at night, showers that don’t drain, and a kitchen microwave so rusted it could star in a post-apocalyptic movie. The windows? Covered in spiderwebs, as though Halloween came early. Honestly, I wouldn’t pay £20 a night for this, yet here I am, charged £135 for four nights. Bargain of the century. Here’s a free piece of advice: if your facilities can’t meet even the basic standards, maybe—just maybe—don’t rent them out.
