Ropewalks City Centre Apartment with Roof Terrace

Convenient location, but noisy outside ...

No response from owner in advance regarding earlier check-in request. Arrived to find half-marathon meant that we were trapped by Sunday road closures until 1130, having had to park at cathedral car park (£35 for 2 days). Finally got response after check-in and then had to pay another £25.00 (having already paid £498.00 for 2 nights) to check-out at 12 instead of 10. "Cleaner" still turned up at 10am on Sunday. Apartment was very cold, dark and smelled of damp and drains upon arrival. Rickety and narrow spiral staircase. Shabby and not very clean bathroom (particularly shower drain which clogged immediately upon use!) - wobbly riser did not hold shower head securely and bathroom door lock did not work. Kitchen area was mucky and poorly equipped (no tea towels provided and only 3 mugs in evidence), drawer fronts missing and damaged. Cupboards were crammed with miscellaneous junk meaning that storage was very limited. Bedroom with vaulted ceilings were cobwebby and no storage for clothing in bedrooms - only very small shelf unit in one. No door hooks available either. Several knocks at front door both evenings from people looking for "secret" venue (asked: is this it?). No security chain/peep hole meant door had to be opened inwards (and hit first stair so not open fully) before revealing identity of people. Didn't feel very secure at all.

We were cold in the main living area. The heaters were not on when we arrived and were insufficient in getting up to a comfortable level. Bedrooms were fine but no heating in bathroom.

Nothing. It was perfect. The spiral staircase could be a mobility issue for some. It was a little creaky.but secure.

Persistent unpleasant smell in part of the flat (similar to a dead-animal odour) Very cold indoors due to older windows/doors letting in wind Heating relied on small electric heaters, which were noisy and reduced overall comfort Property would benefit from maintenance (unstable/worn stairs, visible wall/ceiling stains suggesting past leaks, cosmetic repairs needed) Cleaning could be improved (dust in several areas, fridge not fully clean) Street noise noticeable due to very central location

Great central location with parking nearby and easy drop off outside. Close to China Town. Good communication with the host and easy to get into the property. Very nice place to stay.

Lovley location in the city centre. The host was really helpful and even messaged to see did we need anything and were ok. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

Support and information was very good. Great location, close to Knowledge Quarter, LIPA and Liverpool One
