Quite place in the city with a very nice porch

The parking is small and busy, but we find the parking at the end.

As this apartment is advertised as having a private terrace, I just wanted to point out that it is not a real terrace, but rather the entrance to the apartment. It does have some furniture, but everything was actually too dirty to sit on. Also, leaving only two towels per person for a five-day stay is not sufficient. Please keep that in mind.

"Lovely apartment, great location. Fantastic city break for couples."

8.0

The building is obviously going through some renovation work however despite the excellent proximity to the centre the noise levels in the apartment where perfectly acceptable especially as we are early risers and like to get out handy for a days walk site seeing. OK, it's close to the road and steps and you can't open the net curtains if you want total privacy but that did not bother us nor did the early traffic. Location is superb. Just a few minutes walk from the iconic domed church St Peter the Archangel and past a great bakery where you can sit outside for coffee and croissant. Be careful using the above church for navigation as it looks the same from all 4 sides. From the apartment you can be 'on the strip' within minutes, loads of shops and a great grocery store not far from the church above. The strip is a lovely pedestrianised boulevard with shops and eateries either side. If you just walk in a straight line and keep going you will get to the old town. Not many public loos but Café chain 'Caffeine' don't seem to mind. You can spend your day checking out the huge range of architecture from timber frame dwellings to grand cathedrals and everything in-between. Lots of places to eat or get coffee. Contrasting the city you could turn left out of the apartment, down to the mini roundabout and take the second smaller set of steps. Up over the hill past the library and you are in an amazing park, one of the largest oak groves in Europe. It's so peaceful and a great for quiet walks or sitting reading a book. Anyway, as you may have gathered I am giving the location 10/10 can't fault it. As for the apartment itself it was clean enough and comfortable enough.

There where a few smaller, some minor things that prevented me giving this apartment a full 10 stars, which is a shame as they are almost in the realm of nit picking. However they did impact our stay so I am reporting them here. First up there is no welcome folder. This would of been useful. If you have never used an induction hob it might take some working out. The instructions printed on an A4 sheet in a folder would really have helped. Same with the TV's. There is a hob, kettle, toaster and Microwave which does have a grill but there is no stand to grill anything on. There was no vegetable peeler. No sieve / colander to drain your pasta or rice. Just a few items that would help when cooking a small meal in the evening. There was no hook by the sink in the bathroom for your hand towel. The shower was low pressure. There was no soap tray or gel dispenser in the shower. The heating could not be turned down and the windows only open a certain amount. There was very few hangers on the rail in the bedroom. As I say most of the above are an easy fix and I hope Julia reads them. She did reply to my messages, and I understand that it's hard work running a business but some of the replies I got seem rather terse / blunt. It takes very little to come over more friendly and accommodating.
