The only thing missing was a warning about the sandflies and some eucalyptus oil to keep the sandflies away

upgraded to hillside villa for 50USD more as the original beach villa did not show much of the beach, instead just overlook the garbage collection bins and some warning signs.

it took long time to change to a better (and more expensive place) as the management did not inform there staff. Once I talked with them directly it worked out rather quickly. In general, I would propose to go to this island on a day trip

We liked our stay at Manukan Island as the staff is really attentive. The (hillside) villa was spacious in particular and really comfortable. We also liked the design, you feel like in a nice american beach house. Breakfast and dinner (veggie) were very good. We would recommend the resort, but be aware that Manukan island can be full of garbage, much of coral reefs already destroyed and the island overflown with daytrip tourists...

The view, room and private beach was great. Service was great too!!

Dining options are pathetic. Meals are way too expensive. It's a China tourist centric location. The room requires quite a lot of maintenance. The tub in the room was functioning but requires more maintenance. The room was too far and high up. It might be dangerous for senior citizens or children.

On the beach was sandflies, and we got terrible bites, witch takes long time to heal

Lovely staff and stunning rooms, beautiful island. Very peaceful. Photos do not do it justice.
