Great location

The property felt overcrowded with furniture, making it less comfortable for our group. The beds were also not very comfortable, which impacted our rest. Additionally, the downstairs toilet lacked a lock, creating awkward situations with eight people in the house. Overall, the house is in need of maintenance. However, the owner was very helpful and responsive, which was appreciated.

Modern and comfortable. Nice big rooms for the six of us (and a baby) to spread out and relax. Lovely, quiet street very near town centre. Huge bathroom and large kitchen where we could all gather. Exceptional use of mirrors and interesting paintings. Just like being at home. Could definitely live here.

Nothing not to like.

It’s a quaint, beautiful, large Victorian property, with an unparalleled charm. The host very kindly shared all the required details for self check-in and got us a parking permit for the car right outside the home. The giant book of instructions as you enter is a nice touch. This was all done well in advance and the house has more amenities than one expects in a rental home. The home is large, spacious and the two partitioned living rooms gave us a lot of space to lounge. The kitchen was well stocked with sugar, salt, spices, coffee, utensils and just about all types of cleaning material. The beautiful patio was lovely to sit around in. The rooms were all freshly made and very comfortable to sleep in. The giant bathroom at the first floor landing is the highlight. It’s a huge wood-floored room with beautiful vanity space, a massive tub under a skylight, a commode and a clothes washer-dryer. All amenities in the home are made available to guests which is an absolute delight. A lot of thought has been put into the amenities with even a tote bag and an umbrella behind the door. The host was incredibly gracious and very quick to respond, with minimal intervention. In terms of accessibility, it’s good to know that all the bedrooms are on the first and second floor, with the largest bedroom on the second. Part of the ground floor living area can be converted with a sofa bed, which the host offers to do in advance if one needs it :)

These weren’t very big issues at all, just minor niggles that I felt could be looked into. 1. The coffee machine wasn’t working and we spent some time trying to start it up to no avail. 2. Aside from the large bathroom, the only other water closet is in a Harry Potter like “room under the stairs” which is a bit cramped. We were only 5 people, so we made it work, but at full capacity this may be a concern. 3. Overall the house seems to demand more maintenance and cleaning - kitchen, patio and garden seemed to have either spider webs or dust and the sitting room needs more frequent cleaning because the upholstery feels a bit dusty.
