Location out of town was prefect for us, with good privacy, the smaller cottage being largely out of sight. The manor house had everything one needed, including top quality cookware and an assortment of spices, teas, coffees, etc. The bedrooms had small fireplaces and electric blankets which were perfect for the cold nights. The kitchen and lounge were super spacious, perfect for a large group (we were only 3 plus a dog). Annari the host was wonderful.

The only downside was that the main fireplace in the lounge didn't adequately heat up the large lounge with high ceilings, even with the plenty of wood around. But an extra jersey solved that problem.

The space is neat and tidy with everything you need to relax and enjoy yourself. The view is spectacular!

No complaints!

Annari is the host of the year or any year for that matter by far. Ok there is no such and award but there should be., We were warmly welcomed and a warm good bye. Her recomendarions are based on you as a person and were all spot on. The place itself is fully equipped like a lot of other places and has got bit of old charm, but modernly furnished and equiped. The view is spectacular and out of all the viewing points in Hoggsback this is the best and it is included in the price for free, but it is only for your SENSES to experience and enjoy.Thank you for an excellent stay.

Although our little car were able to handle the entrance road,....more than once it is suggested to perhaps make use of the bigger better equipped vehicle to handle the road with ease, but as said with a little bit of skill a little vehicle can deal with the road.

Location is (I'm 99% sure) the best in Hogsback. The view is breathtaking and the cottage is perfectly situated to see all the landmarks of Hogsback. The cottage is unpretentious, but comfortable. It is well equipped and had whatever we needed. The manager Annari is amazing, she is welcoming and made us feel right at home like old friends. She was very helpful with everything happening in town with recommendations on where to eat, where to go and not to go etc.

Only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't stay longer and Hogsback is not closer!

It's hard to find faults with this property at all. From the host, Annari, who is one of the most friendliest and fun property owners I've ever come across, to the beautiful house with large wall-sized windows that overlook the beautiful mountain surroundings, one could be mistaken that they are somewhere in the hills of Europe. The village itself is a close-knit community of very friendly people, and has a great choice of restaurants and cute little shops, without the annoying pretentiousness you get at some more commercialised little towns. The climate is also very European, with sunny days replaced by sudden bouts of thick fog, which makes driving through the forests a magical experience. If you ever stay over in Hogsback and look for a more polished place to stay, Daneswold is the one for you.

Nothing! On a non-related note, the village is also accessible via Michel's Pass, which, although only 5km long, is one of the most treacherous in the country. We asked the owner if we should dare it in our 4x4, but one has to be an expert driver, even with such a vehicle, to dare this inhospitable pass. However, if anything happens, there is a towing service and a mechanic in the village to jump to the rescue at a nominal fee.

Our hosts were so welcoming and went the extra mile to make our stay so specila2.

Loved the location, loved that it was dog friendly, special towel and blankets just for the dog. The most amazing view.
