Adorable Caravan in Western Lakes

We were really impressed with the surroundings. The park is not a big one and maintained to a very high standard. it was very quiet at all times we were there and in a country setting which added to it's charm. We chose it because it was near Loweswater - which I love and is recommended. (Not a hiker by any stretch - this is a really gentle walk approx 3 miles but is beuatiful) The van was great - really clean and welcoming. Lots of bits and bobs to help your stay more comfortable. (Another reviewer has mentioned not liking this - to which all I can say is that you probably haven't rented a caravan from real folks before - makes it much more homey. we had come from a lodge in Scotland that was self catering and it literally did not even have a bar of soap to wash your hands with or any teabags or towels and was very disappointing so it was lovely to feel that at Inglenook the owners has made an effort.) You had everything you needed and contact with the owners for the keysafe etc.. was very good and they were very responsive. The caravan was so comfy and the side terrace got sun all day from 1pm - and it being June we were sitting out until dark. (Nothing worse than a patio to sit out in that gets no sun) Parasols and furniture supplied - table to eat and lighting - just lovely. The beds were very comfy - also the sofa was comfy too - I often have real comfort issues on caravan sofas but lots of cushions and throws. Very well made seating area. Towels and bed linen provided. Parking beside the van. Shower very nice and powerful and the cubicle quite roomy for a caravan have to say. You could sit in it too - for anyone with a disability. The nearest big supermarkets are in Cockermouth (7miles)so make sure you shop before you arrive. We will definitely visit again it they will have us!

The wifi wasn't strong enough for us to stream on a fire stick through the tv - so no Prime or Netlflix- but this wasn't a real issue as TV supplied. The shower needs a squeegee to help with the ventilation I'd say (I was going to buy one to leave but couldn't find one.) but this is a personal very minor thing!

We stayed at caravan number 22 for two nights. Location was very good as we were there for a wedding at a church within walking distance. Caravan is well designed and can accommodate a small family. Very good for dogs. Nice countryside.

The whole caravan smelled damp. The number of different air fresheners dotted around everywhere made things worse rather than better. Bedsheets were creased so at best we were unsure if they were changed before we arrived. We ended up buying new pillows and bedcovers from a local store. Shelves were dusty, shower and kitchen sink were mouldy. There was food in the kitchen and personal hygiene items in the bathroom. Did I mention that it smelled bad? We had the opportunity to spend time in another caravan on the same site and it was amazing by comparison. So no excuse.

Good communication. Had everything you might need. A play park right outside as well. Nice selection of DVD’s to watch or books to read.

Great location away from the very busy touristy areas. Good pubs nearby for food. Caravan as described.
