No microwaves in the room, which is fine. But there is no alternative to heating up food anywhere in the hotel. Typically hotels without microwaves in rooms would have a designated area/option to warm food up if needed. Other than that it was great, but it would be nice to be able to heat up food somewhere in the hotel.

Such a beautiful hotel and we absolutely loved our stay!

Very lovingly restored train station with a modern tower for rooms. Will definitely look for this hotel again when I'm back in SLC.

Awesome room and the food was delicious

Location in downtown SLC is very good relative to most attractions. Everything downtown is walkable. Room was comfortable, and the decor was interesting, but nothing that really sets it apart from other hotels at this price point. Mostly, I was relieved that they didn't butcher the historic Union Pacific depot.

Parking. $45 for valet parking is steep. Self-park at Gateway is fine, except that the night of our stay there were multiple concerts at area venues and a comedy show at Delta Center that filled the garage to capacity. When you run a downtown hotel, you've gotta find ways to create parking accommodations for your guests. The fact that the hotel overlooks the Gateway Mall is also...interesting. Nice idea, but the mall is half-empty, so shopping isn't exactly an option. What traffic it does get is for the restaurants and bars... which meant that the bar DIRECTLY UNDER THE HOTEL TOWER, was blaming loud music until 1:30 am and had loud drinks carousing until 2 am. It turned what could have been an otherwise fine evening into a joke. Would really appreciate the hotel using whatever leverage it has to get those issues resolved. We'd like to stay there again, but at that price, we can stay at the Grand America with similar ease of access to downtown and a quieter night.

Was looking forward to staying here as I knew it was part of restored Union Pacific Station and a new property. The staff and service were great. The room was beautifully "designed" but not much thought to comfort. An open bathroom is ridiculous if two people in the room. No privacy. Bathroom did not have towel hooks or bars so once off the shelf, no place for towel. no shelf or hook in shower either. No waste can in bathroom. Even though a new hotel, you could hear voices on all sides of room. Biggest insult is $10 wifi charge on a $350 room. $45/night parking seems crazy steep for SLC too.

We love staying here when we are in SLC. Beautiful well kept hotel right in the heart of downtown making very easy to walk to events and restaurants. 10/10

Beautiful property…loved the lobby bar, the prime rib sliders were amazing. Bed was uncomfortable however, so consider sleeping elsewhere, but certainly come see the lobby and other bars.
