CASASdeCASPER - Apartment Alkmaar

This is a beautiful apartment, very clean and comfortable. It is close to the shops and restaurants - a perfect spot.We loved being right next to the canal and liked to sit at the front of the house and watch the boats and paddleboarders. It's good for families young and old as there are no stairs and there's a nice walk-in shower. Good communication from the owner, too. Easy to get to on foot from the train station.

We came by public transport but there is no parking very close by if you are travelling with a vehicle.

Nothing, it's all great

This apartment is a true gem. There are so many details, large and small, that make this place special, unique, and feel like a home that’s even better than home. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Alkmaar along one of its most beautiful canals. The apartment is situated on the most charming street in town, just a minute away from lively bars and restaurants. Yet, inside it’s incredibly peaceful – we were often surprised by the vibrant scene outside when we stepped out, as we didn’t hear it at all from inside. Some of the best sleep of our lives was had here, and the nearby supermarket was perfect for daily grocery runs, allowing us to enjoy fresh items without waste. The apartment is beautifully decorated and fully equipped. Everything you could possibly need is provided – from kitchen utensils to towels, bedding, and even a large TV. The design is lovely, with colorful floral arrangements, ornate wallpaper, and plenty of mirrors that make getting ready easy for multiple people. We especially loved the round table in front of the large window, which offers a great view of the street while still feeling private. It quickly became our favorite spot in the apartment. Storage was also impressive. Despite my initial worry about fitting all our bags, there was more than enough space to store everything, with plenty of hidden nooks and cabinets to keep things out of sight. The layout of the apartment is clever, with the bedrooms and bathroom completely separate from the light-filled living room and kitchen. The doors between these areas ensure that those who want to sleep can do so undisturbed. I must also mention the owners. They were an addition part of our exceptional experience – gracious, responsive, and discreet. They went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic stay, always available when needed but never intrusive. We honestly couldn’t think of a single thing that could be improved. We are greatly looking forward to our return visit.

Absolutely perfect. Immaculately clean, beautifully furnished with everything you would want in a holiday apartment. Wine and biscuits as a lovely welcome gift, comfortable bed, lots of hot water for a shower or bath, well appointed kitchen... gas cooker, a chef's delight. We felt so at home, so secure and in the centre of the old town but in a lovely, quiet street. Can only highly recommend and will definitely return. Thanks to the owners for providing such a haven.

The apartment is in an excellent location from which to explore Alkmaar; it is close to the town centre yet very quiet. It is a very spacious property and possesses a very good array of facilities, especially in the kitchen area. The owner was very helpful too, both before the trip and during it.

The lighting in the double bedroom was not functioning properly, leaving only two small bedside lights to illuminate the rest of the room. Also, guests should be prepared to pay a city tax for each day of their stay, so leave some euros spare!"

The lack of washer is a problem for longer stays. But I understand there just isn't space for it in the apartment.
