We completely loved our two night stay here! So beautifully and thoughtfully designed, in absolutely gorgeous surroundings. Such thoughtful touches around the whole site - like the beauty of the landscaping, the barn area with communal seating, a woodfire and vases filled with freshly cut wildflowers each day. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, happy to give advice on things to do and so easy to ask for whatever we needed. We really can’t recommend it highly enough.

Firstly, the location: this is gorgeous as one would expect in this part of Ireland. But although the feel is pure country, the village with pubs, shop, cafe, etc. is minutes walk away and Glendalough is also within walking distance. Words like "eco" and "nature" can mean a lot of things, not all good, when linked with accommodation and I made this booking with a little trepidation, but I needn't have worried. Deerstone is a mix of chalet-type family-size accommodation and glamping in shepherds hut-style units. We were in the latter, and definitely the best of the type we've experienced in Europe: reasonably spacious, comfortable bed, fridge, decent cooking facilities and a usable shower/toilet arrangement. There are quite a few nice touches-dressing gowns, slippers, and so-on. Outside there is an electric barbecue, and, star of the show, a wood-fired hot tub for two. The grounds are beautiful, and dotted with extras- an exercise pool, saunas with cold plunge tubs, etc. Communications before arriving were excellent and our pre-ordered pizza was a treat after a long day's travel, as were the breakfast provisions.

There were a couple of niggles- the panel heater on the wall wasn't working, but they had a plug-in back-up. It's hard to rate a place like this on value-the price was pretty much luxury hotel level, and I think the huts are a little pricy for what they are-basically self-catering units in the countryside-but the surroundings and the facilities do put it at the top end of this market. I suppose the real test is would I go again, and the answer is a definite "yes".

Couldn’t have enjoyed my stay more. Every last detail was thought of and such a beautiful setting. The hosts were more than accommodating and made us feel so cared for. Most luxurious weekend and worth every penny !

Deerstone was everything we hoped for and so much more! It is an absolute haven of tranquility and it ticked all of the boxes for my partner and I. We are lovers of nature and the outdoors, yoga, and spa facilities (saunas, hot-tubs, plunge pools) and always seek out accommodation options that combine these things but it isn't easy to find. Deerstone has all of this and more! We loved how we could use the yoga studio and that props were there for our own practice- the studio overlooking the river is beautiful! We loved the fooseball table and the ping pong table- so much fun! It brought us back to our childhood playing these games. We adored the japanese soak tub (our very own one!) right outside the cabin door, the two different types of sauna and the cold water plunge pool- this was blissful for us after our daily hikes in the Wicklow mountains. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. They were so kind as to have homemade bread, tea and coffee, eggs, milk, butter, yogurt, and some preserves in the fridge for us on arrival. We loved the luxury of the bathrobes and slippers, the Voya products, and that every detail was so considered and thought out to ensure that we had all we needed so we could truly take in the retreat vibe of the place and not have to leave to pick up things. The pizza available on weekends was delicious! We enjoyed being able to cook in our hut too. We will definitely be back. Thank you so very much. What a beautiful place!

The only thing we would have liked to be different was if there were drying facilities. It rained on our hikes and we had nowhere to dry our clothes as the shepherds hut, naturally, didn't have radiators.

Super friendly staff. Angela was waiting for us to show us to our cabin. Then the next day a tour was given. Very easy to check in ! The location is amazing. The vibe is super. You can't beat the Japanese baths to relax. I feel like a new man after the few days here. Not 1 single bad word to say about it. Its a most visit
