North Lake District rural retreat

Beautiful setting, very clean and well equipped. Lovely spacious bedrooms and comfortable beds. Great to have so many bathrooms with special toiletries. Really appreciated the bottle of Prosecco as well.

Could not fault our stay minus a few minor issues with the main shower upstairs. Great place for a big group plenty of room and good facilities.

Our family loved this place! Very clean & comfortable & plenty of space for all of us including our 3 pooches. Very well planned out with attention to detail & we loved the kitchen with the large family table & seating where we made memories to last a lifetime. The host Robin is lovely & we will certainly wish to return, such a beautiful location & was fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the red squirrels. We cannot recommend highly enough.

We have just had the most amazing Christmas break away to Petteril House with our family. We were traveling as a group 8 and Petteril House has left us with some wonderful memories. To start the house is located very near Greystoke Gill but is situated in a quiet but beautiful country lane which we absolutely loved. It was perfect for us as we wanted to be able to explore the lake district but also be able to go for some local walks, which it was perfect for. The house is about a fifteen minute drive to Penrith which is a lovely town with everything one could need. The house itself is lovely and cosy and has everything you will need for your stay. The host Robin, pulled out all the stops and decorated the house with a Christmas tree and decorations and even left us a bottle of prosecco and chocolates which was such a lovely touch, our whole could not have been more comfortable. The house itself is very warm, has underfloor heating and is well insulated. We were extremely comfortable while relaxing in the morning and evenings. We were traveling with an elderly relative and the house is very accessible with a ramp installed down to the door and two ground floor rooms which are brilliant. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook a full Christmas dinner which was brilliant and there were lots of plates and cutlery to cater for our needs. The house was absolutely spotless and all the beds were very comfortable. We cannot recommend it enough to anyone thinking about staying here.

The photos on Booking.com don't do Petteril house justice. It looks slightly dull in the photos but the house is very bright and cosy and we would highly recommend it to anyone.

Nice and peaceful break. The owners live next door and we're super friendly and helpful. We've never been to the lake district before so they gave us some ideas of which places to visit. Had a lovely barbecue when we arrived and the hosts also accommodated a few extra requests which was very lovely of them. Amazing people and amazing place we all enjoyed it and the kids also loved it so would highly recommend x

Loved the amount of space for our weekend away, great space for us and the kids, nice outdoor space and communal spaces.

Everything was perfect apart from there was a lot of flies
