The apartment is in a great location, close to the city center. Perfect for three people. I highly recommend it!

This was a very clean apartment in an excellent location within easy walking distance to the city centre.

This is not a 2 bedroomed apartment as advertised. There is 1 small bedroom that has to be accessed in order to use the bathroom. The second sleeping area is a mattress on a loft area at the top of a high ladder in the living room. There was no iron or microwave although these are listed as facilities. The checkout instructions requested running the dishwasher but no detergent was provided for same.

While this review is posted under the original property, we want to make it clear that our experience is with the same host/company managing both properties, and therefore reflects our overall experience with them rather than the specific listing.

Shortly before arrival, we were informed that the original accommodation was no longer available and were asked to move to a different apartment. The alternative we were given was located in Møhlenpris, which is a different neighbourhood than the one we had specifically chosen. Before this change, we were also required to pay additional fees (1365 NOK for a damage waiver and 652 NOK for a pet fee) through an external guest portal. We found this process unclear, especially as the original property was no longer available. The apartment we were relocated to was overall fine and had what we needed for our stay. However, there were several maintenance issues: it was quite cold for the time of year, some heaters did not work, and others were plugged into wall sockets that were not functioning. There was no hairdryer, the kitchen sink tap was loose, and when emptying the bathtub the bathroom floor would flood unless the water was drained very slowly. Overall, the stay was acceptable, but the relocation, extra fees, and maintenance issues made the experience less smooth than expected.

The location is ideal – you're never too far from anything in Bergen and it's a beautiful area. There is also a lovely view of the mountains. By far, the location is its main selling point.

Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience. While communication with the host was prompt, our issues were not rectified. In general, this place is not suitable for larger groups – we are a family of five – or for longer stays. Firstly, we paid for an early check-in, but on arrival, the cleaner was still getting the property ready. This was not her fault and she was very polite, but we awkwardly had to eat while she finished working around us. Secondly, the kitchen is not adequately equipped for a self-catering family. There was only one oven shelf, no baking tray, and no tea towels to even get food out of the oven or wipe surfaces. We complained to the host, who informed us that a baking tray would be provided for future guests – which was not helpful for us. Additionally, it rains a lot in Bergen. While the rain itself wasn't a problem, there was a significant issue with the guttering that caused a persistent leak onto the metal external windowsill. This created a loud, constant tapping noise. I eventually had to put a towel outside to absorb the water and dampen the sound; this worked, but it made the first night very difficult. We likely heard it more because we were sleeping on the sofa bed located in the living and kitchen area. Finally, the ladder to the upstairs bed was surprisingly steep. This did not feel clearly explained or shown in the listing images. It could easily be a problem for families with younger children as it is quite dangerous.
