Hotel Resol Kyoto Shijo Muromachi

The Reception is gorgeous with a Zen like space , my room was small but beautiful and comfortable. I loved the free activities in the reception area in the late afternoons. The staff will go out of their way to help you. The room has a really beautiful kettle and Japanese tea cups etc and tatami matt. I loved the reasonably priced washer and dryer downstairs, very handy.

The staff could speak better English in a all tourist hotel. The restaurant where you eat breakfast is not in the same class as the hotel and was disappointing. A kitsch Italian theme restaurant with over heated pasta, pumpkin soup etc for breakfast, but there was more choice, just definitely not in the same caliber and the beautiful Zen Japanese hotel

Superb room ! Very clean, great location. They also have activities in the afternoon/evening like Daruma painting, I also had the chance to see a Maiko performing so I really recommend this hotel

We had a query regarding a medical emergency, while staying at the hotel. The staff, especially Ms Yamamoto and Mr Tomoyuki, were incredibly helpful, guided us to the right hospital, organized everything and were even communicating with the nurses on our behalf to explain the issue. We wouldn't have done it without them and are more than grateful for their outstanding support and incredible service! We really want to thank both of them and are so glad that we stayed at the Resol during this time.
