Rustic Catskills Farmhouse with Lake Views & Wildlife

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The kitchen was very dirty and oily, with grime on nearly everything. The BBQ was rusty and unusable—not only was there no propane, but providing it was apparently the guest’s responsibility, which wasn’t clearly stated. The couch was broken and uncomfortable, making it hard to even watch the TV properly from it. On the positive side, there was a decent-sized TV with a Netflix account, which was appreciated. Overall, the place needs serious cleaning and maintenance.

A beautifully restored farmhouse. Very comfortable, clean, with all the amenities anyone needs.

The property shares a driveway with the neighbours. They made us feel so welcome with an apparatus that informed us we were being videoed every time we stepped out of the house. In addition they kept us entertained with a program of music that we were able to enjoy even inside the property.

The system of holding a bond for breakages without a tour of the inventory on arrival. On the fridge a notice told us to put the dishes in the dishwasher before we left. There was no dishwasher and we did not take it with us!

It had more than enough room for everyone to sleep, eat and rest comfortably. There were two TVs with good internet and the heating kept the house warm once we figured out where it needed to be. Also drink the water from the tap it’s wonderful.

There was no washer or dryer. There isn’t one on the listing but I didn’t realize the impact. With an infant and two young kids we use the washer quite a bit normally. Also the A/C unit in the big bedroom let in cold but it wasn’t bad once we figured out the heat.

House was clearly not cleaned, bed sheets and towels were used, leftover food in the fridge. Door to creepy basement was open.
